Java Selenium Automation Engineer
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Java Selenium Automation Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to join our dynamic QA team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in automation testing using Selenium WebDriver, REST API testing, and CI/CD practices. This position requires a strong foundation in building automation frameworks and executing automated tests in an Agile development environment.
Overall Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
- Implement and execute API testing using Rest Assured and other tools.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks from scratch to support testing requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute testing strategies within an Agile framework.
- Utilize CI/CD tools like TeamCity or Jenkins to streamline the automation process and integrate with development workflows.
- Analyze test results, log defects, and work closely with the development team to resolve issues.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior team members on automation best practices.
Software Requirements
- Automation Tools: Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber
- API Testing: Rest Assured, Postman
- Performance Testing: JMeter or similar tools
- Scripting Languages: Java, Basic knowledge of Python is a plus
- CI/CD Tools: TeamCity, Jenkins

- Proven experience in implementing automation solutions within Agile development lifecycles.

Day-to-day Activities
- Collaborate with the QA and development teams to define testing requirements and strategies.
- Develop automated test cases and frameworks to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Execute automated tests and monitor their outcomes, documenting results and defects comprehensively.
- Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Continuously enhance automation scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency.
- Analyze and troubleshoot automation failures to implement effective solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in testing or automation (e.g., ISTQB) are beneficial.

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders effectively.
