Summary:
We are looking for a technical and experienced DB Architecture Specialist with several years of administration experience in databases like SAP ASE, SAP IQ and MAXDB. You need to be able to run technical PoCs, engineer and create new services, especially on Backup and Restore of databases.
You will have a chance to directly shape and contribute to the overall Enterprise Cloud Services strategy.
What you will do:
We are building our own enterprise backup solution which supports database like HANA, SAP ASE, SAP IQ, MAXDB, DB2, MSSQL, erc As DB Architecture role will be to support the team from a technical expert perspective. Driving the topic of database backup & restore architecture which includes design, test and implementing the solutions togerther with developers and helping to drive the rollout as well. You will work on a technical level and focus on developing and archtecting the new ECS backup service.
Due to the complex nature of the ECS environment we have many dependencies, and it is expected that you will be able to perform hands-on tasks and are able to execute technical engineering exercises.
Due to the central nature of the team, you will have many touchpoints and good collaboration skills are required as you will be a key contributor in nurturing the technological progress in ECS.

As part of Enterprise Cloud Services, the ECS CAE Technology & Architecture team is responsible for creating, consolidating, and driving the ECS architecture roadmap across various teams under consideration of the overall SAP business target. The team covers activities ranging from Pre-Sales support, Service Portfolio Management, evaluation of new solutions and technologies as candidates for future ECS deployments, engineering of new services and definition of architecture standards.
