 Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Analyst Applications (ETL – Developer) to join our India GCC – GCIO ETL Services teams.

We are in search of a skilled ETL Developer in the IT domain to join our Caterpillar IT Division who will develop, consult, implement and monitor ETL Development and Support Initiatives in the Snaplogic, Snowflake and Data Modelling areas according to the business needs.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore, KA-India

 What you will do

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Working closely with business & IT stakeholders and understand ETL requirements and build end to end ETL migration processes using IBM Information Server stack and DataStage.

• Performing ETL in Master Data Management context into IBM Infosphere AE (11.7)
• Designing and building scalable DataStage solutions
• Writing complex SQL queries, Unix shell commands
• Testing and troubleshooting problems in ETL system designs and processes.
• Analyzing and improving existing ETL approaches and solutions.
• Providing Architectural Guidelines
• Experience and expertise other ETL tools, preferably Snaplogic.
• Expected to be part of the ideation, design, and deployment of DataStage solutions.

What you will have 

• ETL Developer with overall at least 7+years of experience in the IT domain

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience, should be able understand and develop complete ETL migration process.
• Strong business analysis and requirement definition background in the areas of data integration (ETL)
• Excellent hands-on knowledge in DataStage (preferably 11.3) developing complex ETL jobs.
• Hands on experience using DataStage in UNIX environment.
• Strong ETL and database (Oracle) concepts
• Experienced with implementation methodologies and best practices (e.g. Waterfall, Agile)
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Experience in establishing criteria for data use/test cases.
• Experience defining and implementing error and exception handling strategies.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and conceptualization skills.
• Strong leadership, customer focus and influential skills
• Ability to work independently as well as being a collaborative team member.
• Able to manage own duties including setting priorities.
• The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in Cloud Migration Projects & Reverse Engineering
• Good Understanding of Cloud Concepts
• Having good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, and procedures, with broad understanding of Caterpillar’s organization is a plus.

• Domain expertise in business applications will be a plus.
• Experience managing projects using agile software tools such as DevOps, Mingle, VSTS, JIRA, Team Services, Rally.
• Experience working with onshore/offshore team model.
• Demonstrated ability to empower teams.
• Strong accountability, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar’s organization

• The primary job location for this role is Bangalore, India
• Work Timings    1:00PM to 10:00PM IST (Approx.)

• Creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex applications.
• Interprets application services such as API; integrates them with technical design.
• Develops various, distinct and multiple technical application designs.
• Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications.
• Explores and evaluates application design considerations for multiple technologies.
