As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.
Job responsibilities - Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
- Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion
- Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters
- Perform mainframe ADABAS & NATURAL product installations, customizations, and evaluations.
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of ADABAS & Natural applications.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless operations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement system upgrades and enhancements.
- Support data management and integration tasks within the mainframe environment.
- Participate in the development of technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and data protection regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- General knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and moderate proficiency in relevant scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Experience with cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
- Basic technical knowledge of additional technical domains
- Hands on experience with JCL, REXX, COBOL, or other mainframe programming languages (e.g., PERL, JYTHON, zOSMF Workflows, MVC, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, HTML, JQuery).
- Basic data fluency and automation knowledge
- Understand basic mainframe technologies, particularly ADABAS & Natural.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with database management and data integration processes.
