Information Security Analyst

About this role:

The Information Security Analyst collaborates with various teams to develop and implement analytics for information security data and business intelligence activities. This role focuses on developing and maintaining PowerBI reports to meet business needs and problem statements, ensuring data quality through ongoing monitoring and refinement. The analyst acts as a subject matter expert on UPS business processes, data, and analytics capabilities, and champions best practices for PowerBI report development to derive actionable insights. They interface with IT and business colleagues to communicate insights from large datasets, supporting IT risk management and regulatory compliance.

Additionally, the analyst understands implementation and integration issues with emerging technologies to develop PowerBI analytics solutions. They coordinate analytics projects, serve as a point of contact to ensure team alignment and stakeholder communication, and perform the role of a trusted advisor with technology and business stakeholders to drive, track, and resolve all aspects of IT risks and compliance readiness. The analyst effectively communicates compliance activity results, remediation, and reporting to a broad audience, maintains current knowledge of developing technologies, industry data trends, and applications, and trains colleagues to increase skill sets and knowledge. The Information Security Analyst reports to the Information Security Manager of the Modernization & Analytics team within the Information Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) department

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain PowerBI reports to meet business needs and problem statements.
• Champion best practices for PowerBI report development to derive actionable insights.
• Act as a subject matter expert on UPS business processes, data, and analytics capabilities.
• Ensure data quality through ongoing monitoring and refinement of PowerBI reports.
• Collaborate with IT and business colleagues to communicate insights from large datasets, supporting IT risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Understand implementation and integration issues with emerging technologies to develop PowerBI analytics solutions.
• Coordinate analytics projects and serve as a point of contact to ensure team alignment and stakeholder communication

Professional Experience/Skills:

• 2+ years working with PowerBI and complex datasets, data science software, or similar analytics/business intelligence systems.
• Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to quickly analyze multiple data formats and large datasets to provide concise responses.
• Experience with business intelligence tools and cloud services/databases such as BigQuery.
• Knowledge of information security risk management principles and regulatory compliance (PCI DSS, SOX, GDPR) is a plus.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results across various contexts.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
• Strong collaboration skills and independent judgment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

• The Information Security Analyst must possess a Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Security, or related field.
