The Position:
The Adolescent and Youth Program Analyst provides technical assistance and support in managing the Adolescent & Youth Team's work at the Country Office in Delhi. This position will focus on strengthening various national and state-level adolescent and youth health policies and programs implemented by different ministries, with the aim of empowering adolescents and young people to accelerate the achievement of the ICPD Programme of Action and Agenda 2030. The program Analyst will offer technical and policy advice in these specialized areas and help strategically position UNFPA’s work, ensuring alignment with other UNFPA program components, including sexual and reproductive health, gender, resource mobilization, and population dynamics. The position will report directly to the National Adolescent and Youth Specialist at the Country Office in New Delhi.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
UNFPA has been a partner to the Government of India and its people since 1974 and is now implementing its 10th five-year Country Programme (2023-2027). The Country Programme leverages large-scale government initiatives to address the health, development, and well-being needs of adolescents and young people through flagship programs such as Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK), the School Health & Wellness Program (SHWP), the Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG), and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), among others.
UNFPA remains a trusted and valuable partner to the ministries like health, education , tribal affairs and youth affairs & sports. The organisation is collaborating with the Ministries of Health and Education, supporting the rollout and institutionalization of the Comprehensive School Health Programme. The organization's technical support to strengthen on-ground implementation of the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (National Adolescent Health Programme) is well-recognized. While working with national government programmes, UNFPA also designs interventions to demonstrate innovative ways to reach adolescents from the most marginalized communities.
UNFPA aims to advance the rights of young people, particularly adolescent girls, by improving their access to information, life skills, and essential services, empowering them to make informed decisions about their lives. The programme seeks to reimagine young people's roles, promote their responsible participation and civic engagement, and unleash their full potential as agents of positive transformation in their communities and society at large.
In this role, you will manage the adolescent and youth programme at the Country Office, providing high-quality technical assistance, developing concept notes and proposals for resource mobilization, introducing innovations to accelerate results, and overseeing results-based programme management. You will strengthen partnerships, build strategic alliances for advocacy, provide policy advice, and leverage financial and technical resources for the accelerated achievement of UNFPA's transformative goals and the ICPD Programme of Action. Additionally, you will engage with other programme units at the national level.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Advanced degree in Public Health, Social Work, Public Health, public policy, Sociology, Health & Hospital Management, Development Management, or related disciplines.
Knowledge and Experience:
Languages:
Fluency in Hindi and English is mandatory. Working knowledge of other Indian languages will be an added advantage.
