About your team


The Health, Safety and Sustainability (HSS) team operates globally sitting within the wider Corporate Property Services function. The HSS team helps fidelity to conduct current and future business operations in a sustainable manner which helps create a safe and healthy work environment and better future for the environment.  


The wider Corporate Property Services (CPS) function build, operate and manage flexible, efficient, safe, productive, resilient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective workplaces. CPS provide services such as catering and hospitality, real estate planning, design and construction, engineering, security, travel, post, and corporate analytics. CPS comprises Corporate Services, Operational & Technical Security, Travel, Health, Safety & Sustainability and Corporate Real Estate.


About your role
The Regional Health, Safety and Sustainability Senior Manager - India will be responsible for the implementation of the FIL Health, Safety and Sustainability Management System within region. The Regional Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager - India will also support the Global Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager in the implementation and maintenance of the Global Health, Safety and Sustainability Management System.


Key responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:


  • Regional implementation of Health, Safety and Sustainability management processes and systems ensuring compliance to ISO 14001, 45001 and 45003
  • Manage the regional Health, Safety and Sustainability Forums/Committees
  • Monitor current statutory H&S and Sustainability obligations and respond to changes to legislation in a timely fashion to ensure organisational compliance.
  • Support Fidelity’s regulatory and voluntary sustainability reporting requirements including the TCFD, CDP and CSRD
  • Prepare Health, Safety and Sustainability strategies for company buildings or areas under company control and monitor implementation of such strategies.
  • Regionally source, deliver and maintain any H&S related equipment or supplies as may be necessary in partnership with Corporate Services
  • Establish and maintain regional risk assessments to identify possible H&S exposure. Implement control measures identified in such assessments to reduce exposure for the business as far as reasonably practicable.
  • Ensure effective accident reporting for the region in partnership with Corporate Security.
  • Prepare and support the delivery of both in-house and industry accredited H&S training, guides, and toolkits.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with local authorities or other legislative bodies and professional organisations to ensure maximum benefit is gained from industry resources.
  • Prepare and support the delivery of any H&S related management reports as may be required by the organisation.
  • Periodically audit company H&S policies, procedures and performance.
  • Maintain records to demonstrate regulatory compliance and provide a basis for continuous improvement in organisational H&S performance.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Real Estate, Corporate Services or any other department in relation to new projects or buildings to provide H&S oversight.
  • To support and develop a regional approach in the context of Corporate Property Services to Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Ensure that there is a robust process to set regional environmental goals, measurements and KPI’s around Sustainability in support of the global sustainability goal to be operationally Net Zero by 2030
  • To consider, recommend and develop other Sustainability related goals as appropriate.
  • To prepare regular reporting against a series of measurable criteria for consideration by senior management on progress against targets.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as may be requested by senior management.

About you


The successful candidate should possess suitable relevant qualifications and experience including:


  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Safety and Health and/or Sustainability
  • ISO 14001/ISO 45001/ISO45003 implementation experience desirable
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and regions to implement consistent standards and practices will be essential.
  • Subject matter expert in Health & Safety best practices, innovation and thinking
  • Subject matter expert in Sustainability matters, with reference to the built office environment, current best practices and industry trends
  • Strong business partnering and project management skills
