Implementation Principal Engineer (based in Mumbai)Summary of the Role

As an Implementation Principal Manager, you will work closely with the Project Manager as the technical lead during project implementations. You will demonstrate advanced leadership, problem-solving, customer service, and relationship management skills. You will provide advanced product knowledge, installation, and infrastructure skills in the implementation of Amadeus Airport IT self-service products. This role involves large project implementations and advising customers on product usability. You will be responsible for documenting interfaces, managing interfaces across each product scope, and documenting test plans and test cases. You will take accountability for the end- to- end delivery of customer-facing projects, mainly focusing on software, testing, and go-live phases. This customer-facing role requires interaction at all levels of the client's organization, from senior executives to technical SMEs, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and nurturing future business opportunities.


In This Role You’ll / Your Main Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Deliver PPS solutions at customer sites, coordinating with the Amadeus Program Manager.


  • Team Coordination: Work with Amadeus, customer teams, and third-party subcontractors for hardware installation and ISP connectivity.


  • Single Point of Contact: Manage interfacing discussions with customers, MSI, and other third parties.


  • Internal Engagement: Ensure timely sign-off of ICDs by engaging with Amadeus internal teams.


  • Daily Coordination: Oversee day-to-day activities with customer teams and subcontractors.


  • Scope Management: Ensure delivery of contracted scope and address key issues promptly.


  • Issue Resolution: Own and resolve any identified technical issues.


  • Implementation Leadership: Lead the rollout of common use and self-service products and infrastructure (LAN, Firewalls, etc.).


  • Testing Facilitation: Oversee customer testing phases (Airline Acceptance Testing, UAT, SAT, OAT).


  • Requirement Documentation: Collect and document customer-specific data and technical requirements.


  • System Understanding: Have knowledge of airport IT systems, peripherals, and software development lifecycles.


  • Product Knowledge: Understand Common Use products and contribute to joint product design efforts.


  • Team Support: Assist other teams in the SDLC, including Business Analysts and QAs.


  • Commissioning Activities: Perform commissioning of self-service equipment before airline testing.


  • Problem Solving: Contribute to problem-solving, design solutions, and team goals.


  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate confidence and independence in technical skills.


  • Quality Assurance: Conduct unit and package tests to ensure software quality.


  • Operational Support: Collaborate with Operations and customer service teams during issues and cutovers.


About the Ideal Candidate
  • You have 11+ years of experience working on Airports and/or Airlines Projects in Common Used Passenger Processing System (CUPPS), Common Used Self-Services (CUSS) kiosks, Self Service Bag Drops (SSBD), Automated Boarding Gates, Passenger Reconciliation System (PRS), either through implementation or post-implementation support role (site manager) is desirable.


  • Managed a team of field services technicians and/or engineers attending to customer incidents, problem, and change management related to airport IT systems and network environments.


  • You are familiar with Windows OS, knowledge of versioning control, Client/Server architecture, various Windows Desktop & Server Operating Systems, basic network understanding in LAN/WAN, and general awareness in Cloud Computing & Architecture.


  • You possess strong interpersonal and communications skills coupled with initiative and leadership


  • Possess a good understanding of service management concepts and processes, including incidents, change, and problem management.


  • Strong skills in building relationships at all levels with customers and between technical, non-technical teams, and Amadeus business functions.


  • Effective organizational skills, perseverance, ability to multi-task, work to deadlines, and a methodical approach to problem-solving.


  •  You preferably have a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering.
