Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HR Manager / Assistant Manager to join our team. This role involves overseeing human resource management, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving training and development initiatives. Key Responsibilities
1. Human Resource Management
- Oversee recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent.
- Conduct and manage internal and external training programs.
- Maintain discipline at all organizational levels.
2. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure a safe, clean, hygienic, and secure work environment.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to prevent accidents and emergencies.
- Ensure adherence to legal and statutory compliance, including international and national standards.
3. Training and Development
- Develop and oversee effective training programs focused on safety and compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training in preventing accidents and incidents.
4. Documentation and Standards
- Maintain documents that comply with legal requirements and applicable standards.
- Ensure all records and documents meet statutory and regulatory compliance.
5. Quality and Infrastructure
- Ensure the achievement of quality objectives.
- Plan and implement infrastructure protection and development strategies.
6. Hazard and Risk Analysis
- Prepare and review hazard/risk analyses.
- Ensure that Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) is implemented and kept up-to-date.
7. Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure preparedness for emergencies through periodic mock drills.
- Record and suggest actions to improve emergency preparedness.
- Activate the Emergency Response Team as needed.
8. Performance Monitoring
- Periodically monitor the performance of the EHS system as per the management program.
- Review and update EHS documentation to comply with legal requirements, aiming for zero accidents.
9. Compliance and Audits
- Ensure statutory compliance and update the legal register.
- Conduct audits/inspections to ensure adherence to health and safety norms.
- Ensure maintenance activities follow EHS best practices.
10. Training and Awareness
- Provide periodic training on various EHS aspects to all employees.
- Make personnel aware of their roles, compliance actions, emergency procedures, and reporting protocols for near-misses, accidents, or incidents.
11. Documentation and Reporting
- Review the suitability and effectiveness of EHS documentation regularly.
- Ensure proper recording of storage, handling, and disposal of materials per stipulated norms.
12. PPE and Safety Practices
- Ensure the use of applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
- Confirm that machine operations, maintenance, and handling adhere to safety practices.
13. Material Management
- Oversee the storage, handling, issuing, and disposal of materials in accordance with EHS requirements.
14. Approval and Authorization
- Approve the HIRA and any changes to it.
- Authorize work permits as necessary.
15. Risk Management
- Stop any activity if EHS-related risks could lead to accidents.
- Ensure effective management of emergencies to avoid casualties and damages.
16. Compliance and Enforcement
- Conduct timely audits and ensure appropriate actions are taken based on audit findings.
- Bar personnel from working if they do not use adequate PPE as stipulated.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Proven experience in HR management or related roles with a focus on safety compliance.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, health, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings effectively.
