SUMMARY:
Ensures time office management for all employees' payroll and contractual and accurate entry of attendance data. Ensures compliance with all applicable state labor laws, employment-related laws, and regulations. Handles employee queries, compiles payroll statistics, maintains proper payroll controls, and processes post-payroll reporting for contractual employees. Supports a full range of HR activities including, but not limited to, recruitment, employee relations, training, etc. Follows company safety policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Verifies accuracy of time clock/timesheet hour calculations.
- Compiles and enters payroll data for contractual staff such as hours worked from time sheets and other records. Uploads contractual staff data into payroll system and verifies accuracy of entries and updates master payroll records. Responsible for processing full & final, bonus, and leave encashment (~25%).
- Handles queries of employees related to attendance, salary, PF, ESIC & LWF and ensures that they understand deductions (~25%).
- Runs pre-payroll and necessary reports to identify variances based on triggers in the system. Works with supervisors as necessary to correct errors in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensures hiring practices are in compliance with local and national regulatory requirements. Ensures that all employee-related documentation and records are processed and maintained according to policy (10%).
- Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked) for management. Prepares ad-hoc reports and analysis using Workday.
- Reviews bi-weekly and monthly reports generated from payroll provider and verifies accuracy. Checks balances and makes corrections as needed. Reconciles payroll on a bi-weekly basis, creating journal entries for month-end.
- Trains employees and managers in timekeeping, how to navigate the system, how to request time-off, etc. Works closely with others in HR to resolve issues (~10%).
- Files and maintains correspondence, payroll, and HR documents; secures records and maintains records retention history (~10%).
- Coordinates with field supervisors for manpower requirements and supports contractual manpower recruitment. Prepares daily and monthly manpower reports for management (~10%).
- Performs other duties, such as maintaining PPE data, plant visits, coordinating and supporting plant employee engagement activities and trainings, and participating in special projects/tasks as assigned.

- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance (PF, ESIC return and challans, LWF challans, factory act return, etc.).
- Demonstrate effective written communication skills with good vocabulary, grammar, and the ability to independently compose routine written communications.
Education & Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred. Specific coursework and/or skill-based training in human behavior. SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Knowledge of recruiting and onboarding.
- Current, in-depth knowledge of local and national regulatory and legal requirements related to human resources and employee management, including worker’s compensation, in order to minimize risk.
Work Experience
- Typically, at least 3-5 years of progressively more responsible experience in most areas of Human Resources.
- Experience should include supporting Workshop/Manufacturing Facilities.
- Experience in a similar industry is desired.
SCOPE:
Serves assigned organization - India
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
No supervisory duties, but frequently leads HR projects. Mentors and trains less experienced staff.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports to Human Resources Manager or Human Resources EVP. Normally works independently and receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments. Selects methods, techniques, and approach to solutions.

C. Travel: Travels approximately 10% of the time outside of normal work locations to meetings, seminars, and supplier offices throughout the assigned region.
