We are looking for an experienced project execution leader who has a proven track record from Paper, Pulp & Energy industry to head our Project Management and Construction & Completion in India Region.
In this role you will be responsible to manage, lead and develop a team of project execution resources covering project management, construction and commissioning management resources to ensure projects are completed according to project plans and guidelines in your own responsibility area.
In this position, you will report to the Director, Project Execution AP and will also be a member of Valmet Pulp & Energy Global Project Management Team. This position will be located in Chennai, India.
Lead, coach and develop project execution teams (project management, site planning, construction management, start-up and commissioning management) within own responsibility area, which includes Pulp & Energy products of all Business Units. Development and implementation of procedures, compliance and data maintenance according to the Project Execution function's operative objectives. Responsible for ensuring that both internal and external project delivery obligations are fulfilled and approved by customers. Estimating financial outcomes of projects and investments as well as ensuring that financial results meet the targets. Ensure that all reference values of project deliveries are met. Ensuring professional Project management & site services in projects. Ensuring construction & commissioning planning, cost estimating support in sales projects. As a member of P&E Global Project Management Team, participates in all meetings and ensures the agreed actions are implemented in own responsibility area. Monitoring and control of overall risks and cost uncertainty to ensure predictability of financial results. Developing of personnel and way to operate. Representation in Pulp & Energy level reporting and discussions. Support project managers where necessary with critical areas such as risk management, contract and claim management etc. of a specific project. Oversee that Project Execution Plan (PEP) is created for each project and also considered already in the sales phase. Oversee resourcing of projects. Leading and developing construction site planning, site construction and commissioning management. Maintain and improve customer relationship. Enforce HSE procedures and practices and Quality Management system in Project execution. Ensure adherence to company’s Values, Business principles and Code of Conduct.
Relevant university bachelor’s engineering degree or master’s engineering degree A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in project management and execution. Good project management skill in executing projects globally. Solid leadership and team management skills. Good influencing and interpersonal skills with ability to drive change. Good expertise and experience in EPC/EPS global projects execution in multinational and matrix organization. Financial mindset, contract and claim management skills. Knowledge of key cultural aspects and ability to adapt leadership style accordingly. Effective communication and presentation skills in English. Willing to travel (both domestic and overseas) to fulfil job requirements, according to business needs.
