We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Innovation & Financial Engineering

Principal responsibilities

• Work with technical stakeholders and sponsors in designing solutions to financial engineering problems, and then lead the delivery of those solutions to a high standard.
• Engage, influence, and collaborate with other end-to-end stakeholders including IT, Finance, and Project teams to ensure positive outcomes for projects within the funding envelope.
• Have a strategic focus which enables HSBC to evolve and adapt in a changing regulatory and market environment.

Leadership & Teamwork 

• Provide strong strategic thinking and leadership to influence both organisational and technical design.
• Foster a high performance culture and a knowledge sharing environment within the financial engineering team.
• Recruit, train and coach financial engineers of different levels of experience across multiple locations and manage the team in a line and/or entity manager capacities.
• Ensure the strategy and vision is well understood by team members.
• Engage and enable business stakeholders and sponsors such that they can contribute, influence and support where necessary to remove obstacles.
• Provide leadership and influence over end-to-end solutions by working closely with other departments that interface with Financial Engineering to deliver effective final solutions to the business and ongoing support.
• Manage budgets associated with projects being run by the role holder, as necessary.
