Business & Program Management Head


Business & Program Management head is responsible to manage the commercial, delivery and business development aspect of India manufacturing operations. He needs to collaborate with Group product business, Group service and spares business and other internal/external stakeholders to realize the group manufacturing & business strategy. FLS is mainly working for Mining vertical. Going forward, while working on multiple variants of existing products, some of the products will be moved from other countries to India. For the successful development and delivery of all products, manufacturing will need the holistic business and program management approach.  


Key Accountabilities


Single Point of Contact


  • SPOC for Product and Service to line for new product enquiries, commercials, technical discussion, order confirmation, order & delivery management
  • Build customer confidence and trust through transparency and effective communication

Estimation and Proposals


  • Build team competency to make necessary cost estimations and proposals for every potential enquiry
  • Proposal and order management to delivery the overall value to the end customer
  • Ensure that there no gaps in the commercials at proposal and order delivery stage
  • Work on the product cost and pricing model as per the finance guidelines

Order Change and Delivery Management


  • Coordinate the change management process (techno-commercial) during the development phase
  • Track, control and improve the QCD parameters in coordination with manufacturing team
  • Delivery orders meeting necessary DIFOT and cost targets

New Product Introduction and Program Management


  • Develop and implement the strong NPI processes in alignment with various stakeholders delivering the key business metrices
  • Lead the cross functional program management team for smooth operations and deliveries
  • Integrate with group guidelines and global operations strategy on NPI processes

P&L Management and Business Development


  • Ensure the manufacturing P&L is achieved as per finance and group guidelines
  • Monitor and control the manufacturing expenses and overheads from cost perspective (Opex)
  • Regular coordination with business lines for the business development, produced value growth and future planning/forecasting
  • Development Internal competitive advantage to delivery cost leadership in total value chain

Team Development & Succession Planning


  • Plan and execute the training of team members/resources to achieve the departmental objectives and people development
  • Develop business acumen in manufacturing team
  • Develop team to build the organization and succession planning for every critical role

What you bring


  • Proven experience working in Manufacturing Industry – Automotive, Heavy Engineering, Mining
  • Engineer by qualification with 18 years and above experience, MBA preferred
  • Engineering, Manufacturing, Program/New Product Introduction Management Background
  • Hand-on experience on ERP and Project/Program management techniques  
  • Product cost, SCM, Make or buy, Cost control experience
  • Techno-Commercial experience and mindset
  • Familiarity with Matrix organization and reporting structure
  • International & multi-stakeholders management exposure
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial attributes.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
