Position Overview
The Hardware Vendor Specialist will be responsible for managing relationships with hardware manufacturers and resellers, overseeing hardware procurement and requisition processes, and ensuring efficient asset management. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of the global hardware market and the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
Responsibilities
Planning and Strategy
Vendor Relationships: Select and maintain relationships with hardware manufacturers and resellers. Collaborate with vendors to negotiate terms and monitor performance
Market Research: Stay updated on market trends related to laptops, tablets, peripherals, and other hardware devices. Provide insights to guide hardware procurement strategies
Hardware Personas: Understand and select the appropriate hardware personas for various user needs, ensuring that these are regularly updated and aligned with changing business demands
Global Demand Planning: Coordinate with global teams to plan and track demand for hardware on an ongoing basis, ensuring that orders align with budgetary constraints and site-specific needs
Process Improvement: Execute special projects aimed at improving hardware vendor management processes and procurement efficiencies
Ordering and Tracking
Requisition Management: Oversee the ordering of hardware for both hub and non-hub locations, ensuring timely submissions of requisition documents and monitoring the delivery lead times with suppliers
Forecasting: Manage the forecasting and procurement of devices for mergers & acquisitions (M&A), ensuring seamless integration into existing operations
Supplier Management: Manage and maintain relationships with hardware suppliers across APAC, EMEA, and AMER regions, ensuring compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance standards
Managing
ServiceNow and Asset Management: Maintain and update hardware asset records in ServiceNow, including ticket management, workstation asset tracking, and future audit requirements
Tool Management: Manage tools such as AirTable and Belarc to track service requests and manage ownership details of hardware assets
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware procurement, vendor management, or a related role
Strong understanding of global hardware market trends and experience with market research
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in asset management tools such as ServiceNow, AirTable, and Belarc
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with global demand planning and forecasting
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with global teams and manage relationships across different regions (APAC, EMEA, AMER)
