GSI Business Development Manager

Job Description


The Role


Since its inception in 1992, SUSE has been at the forefront of technical innovation where change has been the only constant.


The primary responsibility of this position is to act as the offshore business development partner to our global alliance directors to help scale our efforts in our GSIs in India. You will engage with business leaders and technology teams enabling our GSI business plans. This will support business growth in line with our ambitious objectives and company culture as we transform open source Innovations into enterprise-grade solutions to give customers choice. You will be the in country partner to our team in executing on the new industry solutions we are creating with GSIs


The role sits within the Global Ecosystems team, reporting to the Global VP for GSIs, Mike Pallot. 


Focus Areas


  • Collaboration with the whole team in order to execute effectively: Execute as part of a team a cross-functional virtual team (Sales, Services, Customer Success, Marketing, Technical, Product and Solutions) to support our GSI alliances. As part of the broader alliances team to share ideas, thought leadership and best practices


  • Execute existing plans: Use your knowledge, relationships and influence within both SUSE and your partners to execute the global alliance director business plans with the offshore GSI teams


  • Relationship Building: Build on executive relationships with their teams, networking and influence across GSI organizations in existing teams we have built solutions, and in teams we should apply our technologies in order to build solutions


  • Deal Registration: Drive local conversations with our GSIs, understand their account to account focus with our built solutions and ensure we map those in to deal registrations. 


Preferred Experience & Skills


  • 10 year’s experience in business development roles in the technology software and services environments


  • Understand the importance of enterprise deployment models and how GSIs influence those in the top global enterprise customers


  • Demonstrable experience working with GSIs as part of a global team: Infosys, TCS, NTT, Cognizant & Accenture


  • Ability to coordinate RFP bid and proposal response in support of a GSI bidding organization


  • Skilled in relationship building with both technical and business stakeholders


  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships


- with internal teams, external partners and candidates 


  • BSc in a business related field


  • Knowledge of EDGE, Container and AI solutions a plus

  • Ability to work remotely, travel as required to GSI partner locations across India 50% of the time
