Department
We are currently seeking a new colleague in Chennai, India or Bucharest, Romania, to join us as a Global Trade Compliance & Packaging Specialist. You will be part of the Group Digital and Operations organization and will belong to the Global Category Management and Trade Compliance team. This team covers the categories of Transportation, Warehouse, Packaging, and Trade Compliance.
Role
As a Global Trade Compliance & Packaging Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in standardizing and optimizing business processes while ensuring the organization’s activities are conducted in compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Working closely with the Category Team and key stakeholders across Business Lines, you will be responsible for overseeing specific business processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving initiatives through standardized practices.
Your responsibilities
CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism):
Map and develop business processes in close collaboration with relevant key stakeholders.
Coordinate the CBAM Reporting within our EU entities.
Incoterms:
Update and implement recommendations on Incoterms Policy.
Conduct root cause analysis of non-compliance and define risks for each preferred Incoterm, differentiating between Business Lines, Inbound, Outbound, Intercompany, and Country specific.
HS Code Management:
Work closely with relevant stakeholders to map and document business processes.
Implement global standardized procedures.
Packaging
Assess current activities and maturity within our packaging category.
Develop a roadmap and identify key areas for improvements supporting our strategy.
Drive global packaging sourcing and optimization initiatives.
Update relevant packaging instructions.
Change Management:
Support change management efforts related to our categories, including training, communication, and stakeholder engagement around standardized processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize our data, analytics, and processes enhancing visualization and performance.
What you bring
Strong knowledge of Incoterms, HS Code Management, and packaging practices.
Professional proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proven experience in change management and continuous improvement.
Ability to work collaboratively in a global and cross-functional environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on process optimization and compliance.
Education Qualification
Bachelor’s degree from a reputed university. preferably Specializing in in Shipping/ Logistics / International Trade PG Diploma in Export & Import management or International Trade business will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics, packaging, or supply chain management.
Additional Information:
The position will have a 50/50 split of time between Trade Compliance and Packaging.
Traveling is to be expected to all regions of the world, approximately 25 days per year.
