Reporting to the SVP & Head of GBS, the Global Head of Process Excellence, Automation & Analytics will be a critical member of our Global Business Services organization providing strategic leadership and coordination to major improvement projects across Iron Mountain’s enterprise. This role will be charged with delivering significant operational improvement and financial benefit across functions and businesses through implementing comprehensive automation, analytics, reporting, and process improvement frameworks and standardizing Iron Mountain’s operations.


Role and Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership:


  • Develop and execute the vision and strategy for process excellence, continuous improvement, automation, reporting, and analytics across the organization.


  • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on process improvement initiatives and automation opportunities.


Continuous Improvement & Lean Methodology:


  • Using Lean, Six Sigma, lead continuous improvement initiatives and other process improvement methodologies to identify inefficiencies and enhance operational performance.


  • Partner with functional leaders to design and implement improvement roadmaps that support cost savings, productivity gains, and enhanced quality.


  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by establishing training programs, workshops, and tools that empower teams to drive change at all levels of the organization.


Process Excellence & Standardization:


  • Develop and implement process excellence frameworks to ensure standardized, high-quality processes that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.


  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of consultants, project managers, and process excellence professionals, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.


  • Monitor and measure process performance, identifying opportunities to reduce cycle times, improve accuracy, and increase customer satisfaction.


  • Champion change management efforts, communicating effectively to drive alignment, encourage buy-in, and ensure seamless adoption of new processes.


Process Mining & Automation:


  • Drive the adoption of automation technologies (e.g., RPA, AI) to streamline operations and improve service delivery.


  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate automation solutions into existing processes.


Reporting & Analytics:


  • Leverage analytics to drive decision-making, utilizing data to identify improvement opportunities, measure progress, and assess project and process outcomes.


  • Develop and track KPIs, performance metrics, and benchmarks to ensure continuous visibility into improvement efforts and impact on the business.


  • Implement digital tools and platforms to enhance data transparency, project reporting, and real-time tracking of process improvement initiatives.


Ideal Candidate Characteristics & Credentials


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.


  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in internal consulting, project management, or process excellence, with a strong background in GBS, shared services, or similar environments.


  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Master Black Belt) required; PMP and/or other relevant certifications preferred.


  • Strategic Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex issues, design effective solutions, and drive impact in a large-scale, matrixed organization.


  • Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to lead and govern projects with a structured approach, ensuring consistency, transparency, and accountability.


  • Process Improvement & Lean Methodologies: Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices with demonstrated experience in process optimization.


  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Skilled in using data analytics and digital tools to identify improvement opportunities and track performance.


  • Leadership & Change Management: Proven track record of leading teams, driving change, and managing large-scale transformation initiatives.


  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and present effectively to senior leaders.
