JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a Manager of Global Direct Accounts Payable who will bring clarity, management, organization and above all else, personality to our team. It is important to us that this person has the energy and desire to manage the execution of all activities that are deemed necessary to the position. This person is also someone who is capable of driving success even with a wide range of competing priorities in a rapidly evolving environment.The notable responsibilities of the Manager are:Accounting/Controls
  • Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the global direct accounts payable process and ongoing compliance with internal controls.  This includes ensuring all data feeds into/between systems are happening as expected and manage exceptions as they arise. Experience on 3rd party invoice submission and settlement systems examples INFOR- (added skill preferred).
  • All global Direct AP account balances, including relevant accrual accounts, are accurately stated and reported. Review reconciliations performed by the team to ensure accuracy and present current state of balances to global controllership team.
  • Review monthly closing Direct AP and Freight account statements and prepare controllership closing checklists.
  • Ensure work being performed by BPO provider is being delivered according to SLA’s
  • Prepare insightful analysis that allows for proactive influence in decision making and leads to identification of business risks and opportunities
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of external audit accounting support
  • Provide performance reporting, metrics, and analysis of results
  • Continuously review models and assumptions to ensure we are proactively changing our approach to manage changing business environments
Management
  • Manage and develop the global Direct AP team, evaluating staffing, making HR decisions, and creating goals and development plans.
  • Inspire, retain, and manage team performance through: Individual Development Plans, Monthly Coaching and recognizing individuals/team for major accomplishments and milestones.
  • Drive efficient and effective ways of working between Direct AP, controllership, affiliate finance, global sourcing, and other business partners.
  • Proactive management of team work including anticipating workload and timing and providing guidance in prioritizing work to ensure performance objectives are met.
What the Global Direct AP manager already has:
  • Education:  Bachelor/Masters of Accounting, CA/ICWA (Inter/Final)
  • Experience:  Minimum requirement – 5-8 years of experience for qualified accountants. /Minimum 10-12 years for Bachelor/Master Accounting degree holder.  Previous experience working with a Retail Industry and similar roles managing end to end Direct Payables, accounting and reporting in a large organization. BPO experience will be considered added skills. Minimum  5+ years of managing a large diverse team.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with various management levels.  Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.  Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing environment.  Proven analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills.  Strong accounting background with proven ability to understand and interpret complex accounting concepts.  Strong people management and teambuilding skills
  • Problem Solving Skills: This position requires working with several organizations across the Company that sometimes have conflicting motivations and goals.  The person will need to be able to hold firm to the required targets and articulate reasons to stakeholders.  This position works with people in other locations (sometimes in other countries) and from various cultures.  There are many integrated systems which must be understood so unexpected results can quickly be addressed.
