The GAR Analyst is a thought leader who would drive AR performance with good subject expertise, deep business knowledge of the product/channel and leveraging best practices, best in class reconciliations and process improvements. This position would closely partner with Service center leaders, business partners, finance and sales leads in maximizing free cash flow, building longstanding relationships, scaling processes and drive positive customer experience through the right dashboards and reporting. The role would influence the Ads AR strategy and build proactive mechanism working with senior AR leads and all stakeholders.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and take decisions both at a tactical and strategic level – balancing between speed matters and diving deep for scalable solutions.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to influence, have high problem-solving capability, data oriented, takes diverse perspectives and be part of a high performing team.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive and lead AR processes working with global SC, business partnership , sales and finance teams that includes billing, collections, cash application, managing complex reconciliations and driving relationships with Account Manager, Sales, business and Finance teams.
• Driving relationships with global account and tech stakeholders within all sub-channels within devices and services that can be varied including new service offerings, in unblocking exit paths for timely payments and sustained relationships.
• Identify process efficiencies and effectiveness, providing critical feedback regarding process and tool design and lead adoptions around new processes, workflows, tools and other new service offerings.
• Drive engagement with business partners, tech and upstream teams in mapping out a seamless end to end process that has a positive FCF impact and reduces/eliminated invoice defects.
• Define, maintain and monitor all key performance metrics to ensure decisions are data driven proactively. Build and enhance dashboards that measure outcomes and drive performance.
• Ensure new businesses and acquired businesses are successfully onboarded to Amazon systems and processes, in order to ensure maximum collection and cash application efficiency.
• Develop and manage milestones across projects to ensure timely and successful deliverables.
• Dive deep and design/redesign processes for existing as well as new business lines and geographic expansion
Key job responsibilities
To manage expanded scope for Ads AR and billing in supporting BOM teams. Working on new growth areas for Ads, including Live Sports and Prime Video Ads (PVA)- Collaborating with TNF Sales and Finance leadership on driving timely payments for Thursday Night Football (~$1.2B yearly AR). Setting up mechanisms for NBA & WNBA AR, starting from Q3 '25. Supporting Prime Video Ads (PVA) expansion, projected to reach ~$3B yearly AR by 2026. Managing AR for Ads subsidiaries: Wondery: Transitioned AR to Ads AR team in 2024, driving collections review and working with customers on a weekly basis; Sizmek: Collaborating with Ads accounting team on reserve creation and working on exit paths for Sizmek invoices; Amazon Moments: Conducting monthly AR reviews and addressing business-level pain points.
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
