The Portfolio Administration group is responsible for the oversight and general support of Operations, Accounting, and Administration of certain Brandywine products, including, UCITS, US Commingled funds and Canadian Private Funds. The Fund Administration & Oversight Senior Analyst will be responsible for fund administration and oversight of the service providers for these fund groups, with a focus on UCITS. The senior ops associate will be expected to use their operational background in fund administration to oversee the service providers for Brandywine Private Funds.
The Fund Administration & Oversight Senior Analyst will work with a team of 3-4 analysts that are responsible for the review, maintenance, and communication of daily shareholder activity; will be responsible for reconciling performance returns to various administrators, booking daily cash flows, cash management/monitoring; and will play a critical role with coordinating asset transitions that include both cash and assets. The Fund Administration & Oversight Senior Analyst will also assist with the year-end audit process.
Confirm valuation and performance returns for Commingled products, Mutual Funds, Canadian Private Funds and UCITS
Identify, assess, and provide solutions to address risks associated with the oversight of accounting, custody, and transfer agent records
Launch, close, and restructure Brandywine Private funds
Assist with identifying and implementing technology solutions to streamline operations and enhance controls
Daily maintenance of commingled participants and hedge class funds subscriptions and redemptions, and reconciliations between BGIM and the custodian
Identify opportunities to enhance oversight models, including automation of existing controls and procedures
Liaise with BNY Mellon, State Street, and Legg Mason in an effort to resolve issues that relate to product questions, maintenance, and fund implementation
A good understanding and proven experience with fund accounting, expense administration and financial reporting.
Broad knowledge of various product types and complex financial instruments
Previous experience managing service provider or client relationships will be viewed favorably
Technical understanding of hedge fund accounting and complex financial instruments is considered a plus
A person who is persistent, well organized, resourceful and has the ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities
Ability to develop and implement operational processes and procedures that will streamline and enhance day-to-day functions
A person with excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to clearly articulate complicated technical issues, and pro-actively keep management informed on all matters
Strong computer skills, including experience with databases applications that can be used to develop efficient solutions (e.g. Microsoft Access & Excel)
Education & Experience:
College undergraduate degree, preferably in finance, economics, or business preferred.
Three to Five (3-5) years' experience in financial services industry, preferably at a bank or brokerage firm.
Investment management experience in a position with similar responsibilities a plus.
Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, performing multiple tasks and balancing competing priorities
Experience with fund accounting for various types of fund structures, allocation mechanisms, financial instruments
