Job Description FP&A Senior Analyst - CAPEX at NIQ Position Summary:
The FP&A CAPEX Analyst at NielsenIQ plays a critical role in supporting all aspects of CAPEX reconciliation, financial reporting, and capital lease management for both NielsenIQ and GfK. This position partners closely with global CAPEX teams and business finance units to deliver valuable insights and drive financial reporting accuracy. The FP&A Senior Analyst – CAPEX will manage CAPEX reconciliation, engage in budget and forecasting activities, and support audits, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to provide actionable insights, ensuring CAPEX data accuracy and sound financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
• CAPEX Reconciliation & Reporting: Own the reconciliation of CAPEX and capital lease financials, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Ensure accuracy in tracking actuals against Plan, 3-Year Plan, Forecast, and Prior Year.
• Financial Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to CAPEX, highlighting trends, identifying variances, and analyzing causes of unexpected results.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Actively participate in the preparation of the Operating Plan (Budget) and rolling forecast cycles for CAPEX.
• Data Validation: Perform robust crosschecks and validation of data from multiple sources (e.g., SAP, Hyperion Financial Management, Ariba, and Saviom) to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Stakeholder Communication: Support communication efforts with all business stakeholders regarding CAPEX-related activities and updates. Collaborate with central CAPEX teams to deliver indepth financial analysis for senior management and department heads.
• Variance Analysis: Provide variance analysis and detailed explanations for performance deviations, and work closely with finance teams to drive actionable insights.
• Ad Hoc Requests & Compliance: Support internal and external ad hoc requests, including audits and compliance initiatives related to CAPEX financials.
• Process Improvement & Automation: Support finance transformation initiatives focused on automation, process improvement, and operating rhythm optimization within the CAPEX function.
Qualifications and Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CA/CFA/CIMA/CPA is a must Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within a multinational corporation or Financial Operations environment, with specific experience in CAPEX and capital lease management preferred.
• Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of CAPEX accounting, financial reconciliation, and capital lease management. Experience in variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial tools and systems such as SAP, Hyperion Financial Management, Ariba, and advanced Excel. Experience with automation and process improvement tools is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large datasets, perform variance analysis, and generate actionable financial insights.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and sound financial reporting.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present
• Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively with global teams, finance business units, and stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify financial discrepancies and variances, and develop solutions to address underlying causes.
