Flink Administrator

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Flink Administrator with 5-7 years of experience to oversee the deployment and management of Flink jobs within our data processing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real-time data analysis, AWS services, and a thorough understanding of streaming data processing.

Overall Responsibilities

• Flink Job Management: Deploy and manage Flink jobs on the cluster, ensuring reliable execution and performance.
• Data Analysis: Analyze time-series data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, supporting data-driven decision-making.
• Real-time Processing: Perform real-time calculations and analysis on incoming data streams, facilitating timely insights.
• Data Cleaning: Execute data cleaning and augmentation operations to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Resource Monitoring: Monitor job execution, manage resources efficiently, and ensure fault tolerance across the Flink cluster.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize Flink performance by tuning job configurations and integrating with other AWS services for improved efficiency.

Qualifications

• Certification: AWS Certified Data Engineer.

  
  

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

  
  

• Experience: 5+ years of experience as an AWS Data Engineer or in a similar role.

  
  

• Technical Skills:

  
  
  • AWS Services: Strong proficiency in key AWS services such as EC2, EKS/ECS, Glue, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift, and Kinesis.
  • Flink & Kafka: Deep understanding of Kafka and Flink architecture, concepts, and best practices.
  • Data Processing: Experience with data pipelines, streaming data processing, and event-driven architectures.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Go, Scala, or other relevant programming languages.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

  
  

Day-to-day Activities

• Manage the deployment and execution of Flink jobs to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to analyze and interpret time-series data, applying statistical techniques.
• Perform data cleaning and augmentation processes to enhance dataset usability.
• Monitor resource usage and job performance, making adjustments to maximize efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Flink job execution and AWS integrations.
