QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related fields preferred
  • 6+ years of work experience within a multinational shared services environment
  • Knowledge of payroll regulation and practices in Canada, including compliance with income tax and social security obligations is crucial
  • Experience in government reporting, managing payroll data, payroll calculation, government reporting and declaration and annual T4 preparation and filing is required
  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effective with people at all levels in our organization, as well as external accounts
  • Proficiency in using payroll systems such as SAP and ADP
  • Strong knowledge in payroll end-to-end processing, accounting concepts and Microsoft office
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will work in our Finance Global Operations Center in Chennai/Gurugram and will be a part of the Global Payroll Team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will be responsible for a variety of activities related to our Canada payroll processing.  
In this role, you will be responsible for payroll processing and administration. You will be involved in payroll calculation, management and managing tax records. You will generate relevant reports (pay register, variance report, etc.) prior to payroll release and review internally. You will also coordinate payroll release with the local office. You will be responsible for handling complex Canadian regulatory requirements, staying updated with frequent regulatory changes, and navigating detailed regulations. You will ensure payrolls are processed correctly with a focus on end-to-end customer experience, using KPIs and SLAs to measure success and handling special payroll requests with accuracy and timeliness. 
You will be involved in identifying process improvement areas. You will be responsible for timely completion of payroll activities. You will work closely with the process manager in conducting regular control assessments to ensure that process meets internal control requirements. You will be responsible for quality check of payroll activities during month close and random quality check of payroll function.
You will need to be familiar with system integration, understanding the integration of payroll software with other systems and familiarity with relevant HR modules, accounting and time & attendance.
This role also supports US Post Audit team. You will be responsible for quarterly and annual wage adjustments with US tax vendor ADP. You will be responsible for assisting with W-2c printing, distribution and filing with various tax authorities. You will also work closely with the ADP account representative, assist with research discrepancies and respond to state agency notices.
