QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree, preferably in finance/accounting or business administration combined with sound knowledge in finance and accounting
- Good working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office and accounting concepts
- Prior experience on automations such as OCR, RPA or analytics is preferable but not required
- 1+ years of experience in handling team leads and teams comprising 8 to 12 members
- 4+ years of work experience with 2 years of experience in leading general accounting function in a multi-national shared services environment
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will work as a part of the Finance Global Operations (FGO) team in Chennai office within the McKinsey Global Services (MGS) domain, a wholly owned subsidiary of McKinsey & Company in India.
You will work in coordination with various offices globally for US GAAP accounting owning month end closing for global entities, day to day accounting preparing schedules for critical accounts, review of account & transaction and validation of transaction as per GAAP.You will be responsible for review & ownership of BS reconciliation ensuring accuracy & accountability. You need to ensure that items greater than 90 days should have proper drafted action plan & proper documentation for the resolution and closure of the same.
You will be accountable for establishing engagement with local offices and globally interacting for monthly governance call, representing and reporting all reconciliation to ensure maximum support and collaboration to offices by giving a true and fair view of the financial statement. You will be responsible for training the team members and ensuring minimum disruption with the process during event of month end reporting and at the same time focusing and imparting trainings to enhance the knowledge base and technical accounting of the members.
You will prepare and review documentation of all control tested for the process, to ensure there is minimum risk to material misstatement and review accrual journals for expense & revenue.
You will be accountable for maintaining SOP document activities done for GA team. This role requires proper team planning during audits, internal audits, Yearend.
You will also be responsible for supporting adhoc requests by understanding end to end accounting flow of various service line such as P2P, O2C, R2R, identify automation opportunities and drive projects and act as thought partner to various McKinsey offices to resolve challenges.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be responsible for a variety of activities related to the general accounting process, primarily managing the General accounting team to ensure the timely support to office on various accounting processing, analysis of all transaction for the office to identify process / accounting gaps to ensure smooth flow of accounting operations.
In this role, you will partner with functional leadership, office accounting manager and regional CFOs to identify issues, gather necessary information, and use the correct information to construct practical solutions for solving problems.
You will develop, implement, report and review KPIs regularly with the appropriate functional leadership.
You will regularly analyze the general accounting process, identifying improvement areas and recommending new ideas to enhance the efficiency of the overall process, with the aim of increasing customer satisfaction.
You will drive transitions with complete ownership by performing the necessary due diligence, planning, allocation of responsibilities, knowledge transfer, implementation, and process stabilization. You will also ensure that policy changes and business process documentations (SOPs) are updated regularly and adhered to by all team members.
You will be an effective team player, working alongside other teams to achieve the common goals of the firm.
You will be responsible for the objective assessment of team members' performance, identifying areas where training is required and organizing appropriate training sessions on an individual/group basis.
You will regularly provide constructive feedback to team members on their respective performances and engage in conflict resolution as needed, making sure that team members feel supported by building trust-based relationships.
In addition, you will provide regular coaching and mentoring to your team members.
