Key responsibilities :
· Coordinate operational activities within the shift effectively with multiple stakeholders and bring in coordination and cohesiveness to operations
· Maintains log of shipping moments, noting dates, times, and other relevant details as required and responds to ship calls to Port Control advising vessels of weather conditions, and shipping movements. Relay requests for on-duty personnel, engineers, electronic servicemen, etc as required
· During emergencies, act as initial Emergency Controller and call out essential personnel and Emergency Services. Thereafter maintaining an incident log.
· Monitor harbor radar and surveillance systems and liaise with Pilot/ Boat Crews and vessels directly by VHF radio regarding all vessel movements within the area.
· Monitor harbor CCTV cameras and act accordingly to any security breaches noted.
· Monitor yard queues and able to provide faster service to outside trucks.
· Constantly monitor live operations and ensure that the planned operation is effectively executed.
· Coordinate with the engineering department regarding the maintenance schedule & ensure both maintenance & operations are not compromised.
· Record & report equipment breakdowns & actively follow up on the progress.
· Maintain radio communication with each piece of assigned equipment at all times.
· Understanding the day-to-day activities of safe and cost-effective Terminal Operations.
· Update the shift log and equipment availability statement in time
· Graduate/Diploma and Computer Literacy/keyboard skills in systems.
· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Terminal Operations
· Good Communication Skills in Local Language, Hindi, Tamil and English
· Communicating on VHF/Phone
· Working knowledge of Terminal control procedures.
· Knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures
