Join us.Job DescriptionSummary: AECOM is seeking an Environmental Chemist -Data Validation to be based in the Bengaluru India Enterprise Capabilities. This position will support a team based both locally and globally and offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of both in office and remote work schedules. Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Review and validate laboratory data packages by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) guidance to ensure compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data.Upload laboratory analytical data to specific client and regulatory databases.Manage data in relational database systems like EarthSoft EQuIS, Locus EIM, MS Access, or other environment databases.Prepare technical memoranda and white papers to be included in client deliverables.Implement innovation and automation tools produced by the team.Task management: Manage workloads assigned by chemistry staff within stipulated time. Should be flexible with working hours to support other geographical regionsProficient in Level 2 and 3 data validation. Experience in Level 4 validation is a value add for this role, but not mandatory.The project chemist will support quality assurance/quality control, data management, data analysis, and various analytical chemistry aspects of environmental investigations for our clients.The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, developing their technical skills as a chemist while exploring new interests as well.You’ll be valued as a unique resource as you contribute and support our project teams by providing key technical assistance for various environmental remediation and monitoring projects.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Successful candidate(s) will have the following qualifications:Bachelor’s/master’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related discipline5-8 years of relevant experience in a Quality control laboratory and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.The ideal candidate will be able to understand requests from environmental subject matter experts.Knowledge of analytical chemistry principles (i.e., quality assurance and quality control)Familiarity with data validation, data review, field screening, data management, and sampling plans.Experience using relational databases such as EQuIS, Locus EIM, MS Access, and other environmental databases or knowledge of handling laboratory LIMS.Should be proficient in data validation and understand the valid qualifiers and reason codes.Knowledge or experience with the analytical challenges presented by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).Experience performing chemical analysis (Quality control) in an academic or commercial setting.Strong written and oral communication skillsCapable of taking accountability and driving planning, resolution, and execution of the project.Leading new or start-up-related projects where processes will need to be defined, implemented, and iteratedAdditional InformationAdditional informationAECOM provides a wide array of compensation and benefits programs to meet the diverse needs of our employees and their families.
