Job Purpose


  • To drive environment & sustainability initiative programs at Nashik site fully aligned with Global EHS standards and Local Regulatory requirements.
  • To operate & maintain ETP, STP and ZLD with a capacity of 500 KLD,66 KLD and 50 KLD respectively.
  • Develop and lead an occupational hygiene programme that reduces current ergonomics, noise and chemical risks at the site.
  • Work with senior managers to ensure that occupational hygiene risks are considered and adequately addressed in new engineering projects, new product introductions and product transfers
  • Champion and support compliance with GSK standards in collaboration with site and above site functions.

Key Responsibilities


  • Drive the programs to achieve the site environmental KPIs with respect to Environment,
  • Waste, water and circularity, AMR, Biodiversity in alignment for achieving the GSC 2030
  • sustainability goals.
  • Plan and Lead environmental risk assessments (Aspect/Impact, EHAC) are carried at site in line with GSK EHS standards.
  • Ensure Effluent Treatment Plant and RO, MEE and ATFD operations as per the SOP and GSK EHS global standards, so that the treated effluent parameters meet the local regulatory and GSK Standards.
  • Hazardous waste management operations are as per the SOP and GSK EHS Global Standards so as to comply with the local regulatory and GSK Standards
  • Monitor the site’s compliance to Environmental regulatory requirements on periodic basis.
  • Liaison with Pollution control board authorities and represent site on Environment matters.
  • Ensure submission of the forms & returns to Pollution Control Board office as per the time lines in required formats.
  • Experience in dealing with Regulators of MPCB or CPCB
  • Plan for the future by identifying and managing the key occupational hygiene aspects (e.g. ergonomics, noise and chemical exposure control,) of site master plan, engineering projects, and major capital spends.
  • Provide occupational hygiene support to site including:
  • conduct/support ergonomic and chemical risk assessments,
  • develop, conduct, evaluate and interpret the results of occupational hygiene surveys for noise, chemical agents, etc as required
  • work to select the most appropriate controls to reduce exposures to acceptable levels.
  • support the implementation plan for controls where appropriate.
  • provide training, advice on work practices, equipment set up (eg ergonomic workstations PPE selection, etc as required.
  • set targets and track progress in exposure control to ultimately reach a shirt sleeve environment

A. Knowledge/ Education / Experience Required


  • Educational Background

Minimum Level of Education - Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, preferably master's in environmental engineering and industrial Hygiene as subject in Bachelor or Master's degree.

B. Job-Related Experience


Minimum Level of Job-Related Experience required


8 years of experience as environment engineer in manufacturing industry.


5 years of experience required in Industrial hygiene in chemical industry.

We need professional with experience with leadership skills to lead ETP and with skill set to handle regulatory agency.


C. Other Job-Related Skills/Background


ISO 14001 Certification/understanding would be beneficial.


OHTA certification in Industrial Hygiene.
