A Day in the Life
As the overseer of a team of Engineers responsible for completing engineering projects, this role manages a diverse group of professionals, both new and experienced. The Engineering Manager transforms the site strategy into a tangible reality by formulating, communicating, and executing business plans to achieve desired results. The position involves initiating programs or projects based on identified business and tactical needs, and the decisions made directly impact projects, operations, deadlines, resource allocation, funds, and the overall achievement of organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Management:
- Individual need strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with global stakeholders.
- They should be able to understand global team’s requirements, manage expectations, and ensure stakeholder’s satisfaction throughout the collaboration process.
People Leadership:
- Individual should possess leadership qualities to guide and motivate the team members.
- This includes the ability to setting up ambitious departmental goals, performance expectations, provide clear directions, manage day to day function, hire, inspire collaboration and teamwork.
- Fosters continuous improvement of team members' product knowledge and technical skills.
- Develops career paths for employees and provides coaching and mentoring.
- Builds and maintains a high-performance team and fosters a culture of excellence.
Project Management:
- Individual often oversee multiple projects or initiatives. They need strong project management skills to plan, organize, and coordinate resources, timelines, and deliverables.
- Individual has an ability to think big picture of existing program scope and make a strategical plan to leverage the Medtronic India Talents.
- Reviews work output to ensure project objectives and quality standards are met.
Technical Knowledge:
- Drives successful project execution and provides leadership in addressing technical challenges and critical trade-off decisions.
- Candidates must prioritize patient safety and customer service, set high standards, instill operational excellence, promote accountability, and model ethical behavior.
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Bio Medical Engineering, or related fields
- MS /MTech/ME preferred.
- M.B.A preferred.
Must Haves / Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 15 years of applicable work experience in a product organization
- Minimum 4 Years’ experience in a managerial role leading larger engineering teams.
- Medical Device Directives (MDD). ISO procedures / Other Nation & International Standards, FDA requirements and guidance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) would be a plus.
- Maintains knowledge of current regulatory requirements and standards as they pertain to the development and release of medical devices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, negotiating; managing change; goal setting; planning and organizing teamwork; ability to address difficult situations.
- Demonstrated success executing engineering projects with diverse technical teams, management of globally dispersed teams highly preferred.
