The Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap
- Ensure that all integration of functions meet business goals
- Define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process enhancements
- Recommend product customization for system integration
- Identify problem causality, business impact and root causes
- Exhibit knowledge of how own specialty area contributes to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and services
- Advise or mentor junior team members
- Impact the engineering function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role
- Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
- Project Management experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
- Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Proven track record of operational process change and improvement
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
The Re-engineering Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval. Will be responsible for delivering the Operational Excellence and Innovation agenda for the department.
Responsibilities:
- Manages one or more re-engineering teams.
- Defines Global re-engineering methodology and process; Use a structured approach to re-engineering across business through training coordination, workshop facilitation, etc.
- Partners with the Operating Committee to scope re-engineering opportunities within and across product lines; ensure appropriate level of program sponsorship and engagement; identify reporting and tracking mechanisms to capture re-engineering benefits achieved.
- Lead Lean reviews and engagements and has the ability to identify avenues for improving Efficiency, Effectiveness and Experience
- Lead and promote an Innovation culture
- Ideate and Identify opportunities not limited to waste elimination, better process management, automation, standardization and simplification
- Provides day-to-day support of re-engineering team and associated programs.
- Provides management reporting/presentations as needed. Prioritizes Re-engineering opportunities and manage a cross product, cross regional portfolio of productivity programs/projects.
- Escalates project/program issues as appropriate and design plans for remediation.
- Partners as appropriate with the Project and Business Managers to deliver best practice re-engineering solutions.
- Applies in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub function as well as coordinate and contribute to the goals of the entire function; and, requires basic commercial awareness.
- Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how own area collectively integrates to contribute to achieving overall business goals; requires basic industry knowledge. Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations. Directs area supported through responsibility for delivery of end results and shared responsibility for budget management; accountable for resource planning. Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to persuade and influence others; may negotiate with external parties.

Qualifications:
- 8-10 years relevant experience
- Certified Lean Practitioner/Six Sigma Black Belt
- Established process improvement experience with Lean, Six Sigma and/or Project Management required •
- Proven track record of evaluating current processes and envisioning ways to re-engineer the process in order to create value
- Experience across multiple domains and processes is an advantage
- Open to travel
