Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Engineer – Tooling based in Coimbatore
What a typical day looks like:
- Designing of press tools like as Blanking, Piercing, Restricting, Forming, Bending etc.
- Leading all activities of tool design & development from conceptual through detail phases, post design support to development, performing: Component feasibility study, involvement in quoting tool cost, designing of die layout, press tools
- Responsible for Designing press dies layout and machining fixtures (Mechanical, hydraulic) using SolidWorks/Cre-O (Expert in Modeling, surfacing, sheet metal and drafting).
- Create 2D drawings of design for manufacturing purposes
- Design and detail a broad range of tooling, including progressive dies, and gauges
- Create and maintain BOMs, prints and other technical documentation necessary to manufacture
- Participate in design reviews, and project coordination and critique Select gauge and type of sheet metal according to the standard.
- The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BE/ B. Tech (Mechanical/ Automotive / Production), Diploma (Mechanical / Automotive) professional with typically: 4 -12 years of experience in Sheetmetal Design, Manufacturing & DFx : DFM,DFC ,DFA Analysis for Sheetmetal Products.
- Diploma in Tool in Die Making will be added advantage/Skilled in Sheetmetal.
- Die design (Progressive, Transfer, Combination, Compound Die &Multiple Die), Manufacturing process and Materials.
- Hands on in 3DCAD Software tools and experience in sheetmetal die design tools such as Solidworks, Cre-O, Logo Press, AutoForm-DieDesigner & etc.,
- Experience in sheet metal product design for rack cabins, cabinet & product enclosures.
- Aptitude to work with a multi-functional team to define requirements and suitable metrics for the performance of new products and process.
- Knowledge & direct experience in NPI operations and manufacturing engineering.
- Able to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
- Experience with Continuous Process Improvement, Kanban and Lean manufacturing principals.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic startup environment.
- Work with other engineering team members to improve existing design or Process.
