Job Description:


ORGANISATION 
  • The jobholder is placed under the authority of the Head – Aerostructures Data Management team at the Airbus India Pvt Ltd.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Airframe Business Operational Support – Materials and & Processing (BOS M&P) at Airbus India is responsible for providing support in reactive & proactive activities to the Airbus internal (CoE) & External (RSP, ESS, Suppliers) customers for all aircraft programs. Successful candidate will work with a diverse team of motivated engineers who are skilled in materials, processes and tests (MP&T), stress and design perimeters. The jobholder will be the first point of contact for all the technical queries in the M&P domain.


ACCOUNTABILITIES / MAJOR END RESULTS

In the framework of the overall Airbus strategic initiatives in India, the jobholder will be the team member of Business Operations Support.


To this respect the jobholder will:


  • Ensure compliance of deliverables with specifications, requirements and applicable Airbus policies.


  • Ensure that the deliverables are completed according to the agreed work plan, time, cost and quality.


  • Ensure appropriate reporting and publishing on his activities.


  • Adhere and deliver the projects by keeping the focus on company compliance, specifications and the domain essentials.


  • Thrive and demonstrate value addition to the customers.


MAIN ACTIVITIES 
  • Learn quickly and develop the knowledge of existing methods, processes, tools and framework used by Airbus Materials & Processes Domain, with a specific focus on M&P Technologies and core skills of Business Operational Support (BOS).


  • Address and resolve technical queries and incidents of various materials & processes covered across any sub-domain background.


  • Handle and process manufacturing deviation requests in collaboration with M&P and Supply Chain teams.


  • Manage and process material and processes qualification requests


  • Guide customers towards relevant business and technical processes based on their need.


  • Generate, drive and manage proactive topics based on the ideas created from repeated problems to enhance the service provided to customers by  


    • Collaborating with various internal functions or departments


    • Influencing all the stakeholders and delivering on the commitments within the frame of Airbus priorities.


  • To perform investigations, analyse and prepare summaries for a deeper analysis by the technical specialists.


  • Develop a knowledge base from insights gathered during job observations and provide awareness session to customers.


  • Take initiatives and suggest applications of state-of-the-art methods and tools to the different sub-projects.


  • Understand material qualification under various sub-domain technologies in order to orient customers through the appropriate methodology.


  • Identify, formalise and evaluate potential improvements, and make proposals to Airbus Materials & Processes Domain for improvements. 


  • Comply with ways of working agreed between European Engineering Entities and the Indian Centre.


  • Ensure that effective communication is established and maintained with transnational teams with aim to build trust and to increase efficiency.


  • Ensure the appropriate reporting and publishing on the activities, with a focus on the process followed, achievements and lessons learned


DIMENSIONS, CONSTRAINTS
  • The job requires ability to learn and adopt quickly the technical requirements of BOS-M&P.


  • The job requires ability to communicate in a strongly multi-cultural environment.


  • The job requires quick adaptability, open mind set to learn and aligning with the team to deliver the best.


  • The job requires travels to Europe as necessary for the efficiency of the project.


MAJOR PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED IN THE POSITION
  • To understand Airbus culture, Procedures, Customer needs and Ways of Working with transnational teams. 


  • To be efficient since the start for ensuring future development activities


  • To support the various technology team activities on demand due to the business & customer requirements.


  • To build and maintain stable and dynamic relationships with European colleagues.


SKILLS:
  • Strong understanding of properties, behaviour of metallic/composite materials/plastics and their manufacturing processes is a must


  • Coatings and surface protections, corrosion principles


  • Knowledge in assembly technology is desirable


  • Very good analytical, problem solving and reasoning skills


  • Technical writing


  • Basic knowledge of automation and data analytics.


  • Programming skills in Python or scripting languages will be an added advantage


QUALIFICATION: 

B.E/B.Tech/M.E/ M.Tech/Mechanical/Aeronautical/Metallurgy/Materials Engineering/Polymer technology


EXPERIENCE: 

Preferably 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing shops, materials and processes qualifications

  • Demonstrate best project management skills on Stake holder co-ordination, technical discussions/reviews, milestones achievement in line with business / customer needs


  • Autonomous, Self-empowered and Team Player 


  • Problem-solving, critical, creative and strategic thinking


  • Comfortable in a multicultural team, employing ethical leadership with cross cultural and diverse viewpoints


  • Proficient oral and written communication skills, flexible, engaged and curious.


  • Ability to develop leadership skills by identifying development needs.


  • Willingness to take more responsibility and ownership.


  • Capability to challenge, adopt and to collaborate with transnational multidisciplinary teams.


  • Management of stakeholders and their expectation


  • Interpersonal skills and developing relationships with team members and customers


  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
