Senior Manager, Software Development – Software and Automation


We’re looking for a senior leader to oversee a team dedicated for developing telecommunications network management automation and planning products. This position is based out of Bangalore, India. We look for a leader who drives team through a transformation in the way of working focusing on technical mastery.


Applicants must demonstrate a proven track record of managing large teams in an international environment in challenging technology areas.


Responsibilities:


  • Leading a team of software developers and architects, designing, and implementing next generation network management automation and planning solutions.


  • Balance business demands with product needs and optimize the performance of team.


  • Active involvement in inter-disciplinary teams focused on release and solution planning.


  • Hiring and mentoring a team of exceptional software developers.


  • Understand current processes followed and keep refining to improve productivity and enhance speed of delivery. 


  • Maintain Secure Coding practices, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment technologies.


  • Ensure in team delivering software on time, within budget and exceeding quality and user experience expectations.


  • Collaborate with cross functional teams working locally/remotely


  • Execute product strategy with agility and passion.


  • Ownership and responsibility for all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with product marketing, engineering, and testing teams, with Agile process and methodology.


Required Skills


  • Engineering leadership in successfully delivering software products. 


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal


  • Good working knowledge of network management software design and architecture with emphasis on decoupled architectures and deployment models.


  • Knowledge of Network Management interfaces. e. g. Netconf/YANG, REST,  OpenConfig, CLI etc.


  • Strong knowledge and experience of Agile software development methodology.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Proficient with project management tools, MS project, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira


  • Must be able to create and maintain good working relationships with a diverse set of colleagues working in several locations around the world.


  • Proven ability to hire, train and motivate a team.


  • Talent coaching and mentoring skills


Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor/Master of Engineering in Computer Science/Electronics & Communication


  • 12+ years of Strong software development experience, with a focus on building scalable software products,


  • 6+ years of experience working as a software development manager and managing multiple teams.


  • 3+ years of experience working and leading teams in agile software development, scrum master certification is a strong plus;


  • Familiarity with micro services architecture and cloud deployment models.


  • Ability to be hands-on in code development activities with programming languages like Java, Java Script, Python, DBMS etc.


  • Familiar with user interface design using modern frameworks Angular, Figma etc.


  • Working knowledge of Secure Coding and Development practices.


  • Strong working knowledge of modern web and mobile technologies.


  • Willing to accept new opportunities and always curious to gain new skills.


  • Proven leadership and influencing abilities from core team up through executive levels.


  • Strong stakeholder management, communications, and facilitation experience across the full lifecycle of complex products

The current processing time for an export control license is approximately 4 to 6 months.

You will be required to provide certain information for export control compliance assessment purposes, and your information will be reviewed by Infinera's hiring and export control teams to ensure compliance with the U.S. export control laws and regulations. Infinera will collect necessary documents (such as proof of citizenship etc.) to assess license/authorization requirements if you are offered and accept the position.”
