Western Union powers your pursuit.As Director, you will lead Customer Experience Engineering in Pune for full stack technology with strong emphasis on collaboration with multiple business and technology stakeholders spread across the globe. You would be performing below responsibilities –Role ResponsibilitiesShape the strategic direction and partner closely with Business Owners, Product Management, and other IT stakeholders to help define the product vision and roadmap by thoroughly understanding the customers’ needsCreating vision, strategy, and plan to build high performing engineering teamsDemonstrate strong technical and domain capabilities while assessing business needs, proposing creative and effective technical solutions, and solving product challenges that leads to measurable product and business outcomesDefine, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software systems throughout all phases of the software development processEstimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and roll out applications with cross-functional impactsExecute to success through diligent planning, attention to detail, effective delegation, and efficient decision-making.Implement process improvements and introduce innovative engineering practices that improve product quality and optimize efforts.Strong emphasis on customer experience, product quality, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and continuous development.Lead multiple cross functional Agile teams consisting of Program Managers, Engineering Managers, Solution Architects, Scrum Masters and Engineers that build and enhance Western Union’s Digital and Retail money transfer platformsRecruit develop and mentor world-class engineering talent that constantly raises the bar and holds itself to high engineering standardsHold regular 1-1s with direct reports, help them navigate challenges, and coach them for their career development.Role Requirements15+ years of over-all engineering experience with 6+ years of leadership experienceDemonstrated leadership experience in leading engineering organization at scale. Demonstrated capabilities in assessing business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards building global enterprise scale web and mobile applications and payment integrations.Proven ability to understand the business and ability to contribute to technology direction that drives measurable business improvements. Partner and Collaborate with product and business teams in defining and influencing the product roadmap and deliver with speed and quality focusing on productivity improvements across the E2E development and deployment cycle.Demonstrated experience in designing and re-designing roadmaps. Modernizing roadmaps for large scale, enterprise web applications.Excellent decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, OOPs, and OOA/D. Current hands-on experience in building microservices based architecture and platform developed and deployed at scale.Hands-on experience in Angular/React/React Native, Java/J2EE, GraphQL, Rest based APIs, Open-Source technologies.Experience in creating and consuming RESTful and SOAP based web servicesExperience with agile development methodologies with Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI (Continuous Integration)/CD (Continuous Delivery) Hands on engineering experience driving e commerce and payment Solutions.Experience in Cloud (AWS/GCP) based architecture designs and implementationsWe make financial services accessible to humans everywhere.
