Job DescriptionPurpose of the role
To raise capital and manage the financial risk of clients, including financial advisory services, identification and origination of market opportunities, research, economic analysis.
Accountabilities
- Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate, financial and institutional clients to understand their financing needs and objectives. .
- Development and maintenance of complex financial models to assess the value of assets, companies, or securities and identify the most appropriate structuring of capital raising initiatives, including equity financing via an initial public offerings, investment grade debt underwriting, leveraged financing solutions for non-investment grade clients, or derivative hedging solutions. .
- Collaboration with Coverage, M&A, Syndicate, Global Markets, and cross functional teams to ensure successful origination, company due diligence, and execution of various capital market transactions. .
- Identification, assessment, and management of risks associated with capital markets transactions and development of risk mitigation strategies in alignment with regulatory requirements. .
- Research, financial data analysis and continued development of market insights and investment recommendations. .

- Foster and guide compliance, ensure regulations are observed that relevant processes in place to facilitate adherence.
- Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group to achieve the overall business objectives.
- Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector / functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments / initiatives.
- Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/ sensitive situations.
- Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
- Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
- Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ businesses divisions.
- Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.

Overall purpose of role
- This is a business origination role in the global markets space where success will be gauged by one’s ability to win corporate flows and manage relationships on an ongoing basis
- The desk is assigned and operates on the back of specific revenue budgets, which the candidate will be required to work towards and will be accountable towards client and product level revenues.
- Idea generation, sale process and trade/portfolio management through the lifecycle of the trades will be a key accountability in this role.
- A strong understanding of internal policies and adherence to the external regulatory framework is critical in this role.
- The role will require the candidate to interact with client coverage teams, trading credit, legal, compliance and operations teams on an ongoing basis.
- Externally, this role requires one to interact with treasury personnel of the Bank’s corporate clients on a day to day basis.
- The role requires one to have a strong analytical and numbers driven approach as success is dependent on the salespersons ability to provide appropriate solutions in the FX and IR space.
- One will need to be quick to grasp problem statements and analyse options based on current market conditions and the regulatory framework from time to time
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Postgraduate or above in any discipline
- Prior experience of selling FX & IR derivative products to Indian clients
- A strong understanding of Global Markets, pricing of FX and interest rate products and the ability to present and execute transactions with our customers is essential
- Candidate should know how to price derivatives, and have a good understanding of local regulations
- Strong communications skills, confidence to manage customers and a commercial acumen are prerequisites for this role.
