We are seeking a Director of Credit Risk Strategy & Regulatory Compliance to drive transformation of our global credit risk compliance framework while ensuring the stability and effectiveness of daily credit risk activities within the APAC region.
This role will lead the development of innovate technology solutions that help the firm meet a diverse set of local jurisdictional credit risk regulatory requirements, optimize the global operating model, and ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day credit activities and systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of global credit risk policies, a keen eye for process standardization, and a strong background in managing technology change. They will be responsible for driving the software development lifecycle for compliance focused credit risk capabilities, overseeing go to market plans, and ensuring local reading of risk teams worldwide. This is a high impact role requiring a detail-oriented mindset, an ability to navigate complex and sometimes conflicting regulations, and a drive to disrupt and innovate within a highly regulated environment. This a hands on role that will be responsible for managing a local team of staff, and will be additionally responsible for overseeing a set of indirect resources across multiple jurisdictions in the APAC region.
In this role, you’re expected to:
Regulatory Strategy & Standardization:
Analyze and interpret global credit risk regulations to identify opportunities for policy standardization and improved operational efficiency
Work closely with multiple teams at global and local levels to ensure compliance with local jurisdictional requirements, while ensuring global policy alignment
Develop and implement governance frameworks to ensure consistent adherence to evolving credit risk policies across multiple markets
Global Operating Model & Process Optimization
Development and refine global credit risk operating models to ensure adaptability to local regulatory frameworks
Establish scalable processes and workflows that improve risk assessment consistency while accommodating jurisdictional nuances
Collaborate with regional credit risk teams to ensure readiness for new regulatory changes and technology rollouts
Technology & Change Management
Lead the development and implementation of innovative credit risk compliance tools that improve transparency, efficiency, and reporting
Oversee the end to end software development lifecycle (SDLC), from concept and design to testing, deployment and maintenance
Partner with engineering, data science, and end users to build scalable and adaptable risk management solutions
Drive process automation and digitization efforts to enhance regulatory and risk assessment workflows
Go-To-Market Readiness
Define and execute go-to-market strategies for new credit risk technology solutions, including client and user onboarding plans
Lead local implementation efforts, ensuring regulatory teams are trained and prepared for new tools and process changes
Monitor adoption and effectiveness of new technology solutions, making data driven improvements as needed
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Broad Years of experience in credit risk regulatory compliance or risk technology transformation in financial services
Strong understanding of global credit risk regulations and the complexities of jurisdictional differences
Proven track record of leading technology driven risk management initiatives, including experience with SDLC and software implementation
Expertise in change management and the ability to drive transformation in complex, highly regulated environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex regulatory requirements intro actionable technology and process solutions
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, risk managers, and cross-functional teams
Experience managing global teams and working across multiple regulatory jurisdictions
A mindset for innovation and disruption constantly seeking new ways to optimize compliance while maintaining business agility
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred and managerial experience
