Job Purpose


GSK is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Connectivity Service Management.  This role will be responsible for leading the Network Operations team and managing the day-to-day operations of GSK’s global network infrastructure. This role will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the company’s network services, supporting business-critical operations and strategic initiatives.


Your responsibilities include…
  • Lead and mentor the Network Operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for network operations, aligning with GSK’s overall IT strategy and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other IT leaders, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and alignment of network services.
  • Oversee the monitoring, maintenance, and support of GSK’s global network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud, carrier, and security devices.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of network services through proactive incident management.
  • Implement and enforce network policies, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain robust network security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular network security assessments, audits, and penetration tests.
  • Manage network-related risks, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Vendor and Budget Management:
  • Manage relationships with network service providers, hardware vendors, and other external partners.
  • Develop and manage the network operations budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient use of resources.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network performance, reliability, and security.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Your Key Stakeholders are…
  • Senior Director EHS Operations:  Daily accountability in ensuring that policies and procedures are executed to ensure appropriate SLAs are met regarding service restoration
  • Senior Director Connectivity: Accountable to ensure alignment with cohesive strategy for Global Connectivity services
  • Business Units: Regular cadence meetings to ensure that services provided are fit for purpose in optimizing availability
  • Strategic Partners: Daily engagement with suppliers that provide network operational services to the business
Why you? 

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Total 18+ years of experience with minimum of 10 years of experience in network operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and technologies, including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and others.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Proven experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends.
  • Experience with Cloud Network, Datacentre Network, WAN Technologies, and Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Passionate about enhancing the customer experience.
  • Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs.
  • Proficient in agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experienced in the DevOps operational model.
