Selection growth and experience (SGX) org is tasked to reduce not-onsite selection through various programs (E.g. publisher outreach, title-set linking) and remove selection barriers through publisher education, digital periodicals subscription, print magazines subscription, single issues, articles and conversion services. The SGX team helps kick-start and increase the Flywheel Momentum in a marketplace by building knowledge / expertise to convert titles in different languages and input file formats. The team collaborates with technology teams to improve/develop quality/conversion tools, improve conversion pipeline and carry out competitor bench-marking activities.
Key job responsibilities
1. The role will require the candidate to quickly understand the books and metadata tasks and tools and how they fit into the overall publishing workflow.
2. The associate will require to validate and quality audit the reworks submitted by authors/publishers for Arabic eBooks.
3. The associate needs to continuously adapt to changes in processes, SOPs, and existing tools. The associate has to follow existing SOP to spot/catch metadata errors and anomalies. The associate should identify gaps in SOP and propose recommendation to avoid customer impact.
4. The associate will need to be aware of the operations metrics like productivity (number of titles processed per hour), quality (defect percentage) and delivery/latency SLA. The associate will be measured on compliance to these metrics, SLA requirements, QA guidelines, team and personal goals.
5. The associate should be a team player and come up with improvement ideas to the direct report and improve the editing/QA process.
6. The associate will need to often contact stakeholders globally to provide status reports, communicate relevant information and escalate when needed.
7. The role requires a graduate degree and proficiency in MS Office products, especially Excel formulas, macros and handle large set of data and be comfortable with numbers.
8. The associate should have attention to detail, good communication skills, and a professional demeanor.
9. The candidate needs to perform regular checks on given titles to qualify the user experience.
10. Review Amazon titles for titleset issues based on pre-defined guidelines and SOPs and escalate them to the respective POCs.
11. Candidate need to communicate with stakeholders and external partners on a daily basis and should escalate wherever needed.
