DevOps Platform Lead Engineer

The Allegion India Team is looking for a Lead platform engineer to collaborate with our Enterprise IT & Engineering product development teams and help achieve our mission of greater satisfaction and trust in Allegion Software. As a lead engineer, you will be responsible for promoting and encouraging the adoption of DevOps best practices.

The role of the Lead Engineer is a crucial component of the DevOps Platform team, responsible for researching, architecting, and developing solutions that empower Allegion's digital product development teams to achieve success. This position takes a comprehensive approach to software delivery, encompassing identification, design, and delivery of innovative solutions, as well as measuring their effectiveness. The Lead Engineer will engage with teams, seeking to understand their key pain points while remaining knowledgeable about available marketplace solutions to deliver and document successful outcomes.

Job Description:

• Foster innovation by creatively applying tools and methods to software and infrastructure architecture, design, and development. 
• Mentor and support the growth of other engineers within the DevOps platform team. 
• Design and develop specified application components, enhancements, or automation scripts, as needed. 
• Design, develop and support Allegion’s software product dashboard and automation tooling around SOC2 attestation. 
• Evaluate and document findings on external software tools, open-source tooling, and internal tools aimed at solving specific business challenges related to the software development life cycle (SDLC). 
• Advocate for the implementation and utilization of best practices across the enterprise around DevSecOps, Agile, Security, Data privacy.  
• Identify technical risk in projects and develop strategies to alleviate it 
• Communicate technical architecture direction and how it relates to business objectives to all levels of the organization through documentation, training, and awareness. 
• Strengthen the relationship between the product, design, security, devops, infrastructure, legal and development groups 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Experience with a modern general-purpose object-oriented language such as C# or Java and/or experience in a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular or React 
• Experience with Elastic Cloud and Kibana. Building Enterprise dashboards is a plus. 
• Experience with SOC2 Compliance is a plus. 
• Have a passion for technology and willingness to explore and adopt emerging technologies for practical business purposes. 
• A positive attitude working with an agile team to develop innovative technical solutions built on a secure foundation that enable business growth, more reliable customer interactions, and improved customer satisfaction. 
• Be apt at understanding new business domains and be creative and thoughtful about applying technology to improve processes and issues. 
• Ability to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions that are forwarding looking to how they could be implemented on a larger scale. 
• Demonstrated experience modeling the innovation behaviors of questioning, observing, experimenting, networking, and associating. 
• Mentor and share knowledge with team members and across the Allegion IT teams. 
• Verbal and written communication, with various team members in roles that are both technical and non-technical particularly to give direction or present business value of various initiatives to leadership. 
• Proactively work to coordinate efforts with employees at all levels including internal business partners, other technology teams, external suppliers/consultants, service providers, etc. 
• Ability to collaborate with global teams. 
• Ability to identify issues, generate solutions, and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis. 
• Demonstrated knowledge in software and solution architecture. 
• Experience designing applications that collectively integrate custom software, cloud architectures and commercial off-the-self software and possess a keen awareness of the services available and benefits or trade-offs of each paradigm. 
• Demonstrated knowledge in software development methodologies and best practices, application lifecycle management, and development and automation tooling. 

Desired Skills & Abilities

• Experience with Azure/AWS.  
• Experience with a JavaScript framework such as Angular or .NET 
• Experience with Domain Driven Design 
• Experience with web accessibilityequired Education and/or Experience: 
• BE/B Tech/M Tech/MCA/MSc in Computer Science Engineering
• 10 to 15 Years of experience in Software Application Development
