The Cloud DevOps Engineering team globally serves our internal Roche customers and IT partners designing, building and operating modern distributed systems on a Public and private Cloud Infrastructure globally (Europe, NALA and APAC).
As a cloud DevOps engineer, you will work with the latest technologies in a fast-paced engineering environment. You will contribute to a cloud DevOps team to ensure customer service management, managed services operations, and consistent product improvement engineering.
Collaboration with customers, product engineering and operations is critical to success.
Job responsibilities
Technical Expert to collaborate with global team on technical decisions/deliverables/priorities.
Look for continuous improvement activities both in technical, teamwork, collaboration and processes areas. Propose continuous improvement activities.
Consult with leaders and employees to build and produce reports using query and flexible reporting tools that address business needs and identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements.
Represent the Cloud DevOps Engineering team to stakeholders, customers, and external teams.
Ensure the Cloud DevOps Engineering focuses on priorities, milestones and deliverables as per direction of the product management team.
Support the Cloud DevOps Engineering team on technical decisions.
Work to meet SLAs on customer deployments in a global environment.
Oversee managed services in a consistent, timely manner.
Be part of the technical solution team focusing on maintaining services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability and overall system health and improving the reliability of the IT Infrastructure.
Collaborate with clients, other IT departments and managed service suppliers in the design and delivery of complex Cloud IT Solutions.
Technology Skills:
Must have:
You will bring 5+ years of relevant work experience in one or more multinational work environments (e.g. healthcare industry experience is a plus)
Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure, or architecting hybrid multi-cloud solutions on public cloud platforms (preferably AWS, but Azure or GCP experience is also valuable).
Proficiency with containerization and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with networking concepts VPCs, subnets, LoadBalancers, Transit Gateway, and Network Firewall.
Build and maintain Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI or AWS CodePipeline.
Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Nice to have:
AWS Architect Professional or equivalent working knowledge on AWS environments.
Experience with microservices architecture and deploying serverless services (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
Other containers/serverless services knowledge: K8s, Docker.
Other DevOps Pipeline Automation knowledge: Jenkins, ArgoCD.
Knowledge of data visualization tools ( i.e. Tableau).
Experience with modern tools in the Agile Software Development Life Cycle.
Experience with Version Control Systems ( GitHub, Git, Stash/Bitbucket)
Experience with knowledge management systems ( i.e. Confluence, Google Docs).
Experience in development workflow ( i.e. JIRA)
Experience in continuous integration systems ( i.e. Bamboo)
Usage of real-time collaboration tools (i.e. Hipchat, Slack).
