Role Purpose:
Preparation of 3D model for Instrumentation and Telecom equipment, cable trays, supports, generate production drawings, prepare detailed drawings and other Instrument and Telecom engineering deliverables in line with project and yard requirements. Follow yard Instrumentation and control standards and project requirements for 3D modelling and drafting Instrument and Telecom drawings & deliverables.
Designation: Instrumentation Designer – EIT Engineering - Global Service Centre
Base Location: Navi Mumbai
Reporting to: Assistant Manager - EIT Engineering - Global Service Centre
Key Role Responsibilities:
Carry out duties assigned by superior for day-to-day operations and to ensure them to compliance with the established standards and procedures
Prepare project deliverables for Instrument and Telecom engineering, assuring that they are mistake free and in line with project standards, yard Instrument and Telecom standard, and drafting standards.
Preparation of design drawings following Class rules and as per guidance taken from responsible engineer.
Identification, selection and design of Instrument and Telecom system / equipment for projects, as required
Preparation of detailed & production design and development of 3D model.
Producing of production fabrication and installation drawings
Prepare cable block diagrams and termination drawings as per guidance and instructions given by Engineers.
Preparation of Bill of Materials, material top-ups requirements, weight calculations
Identification of changes in client provided drawings and documents, preparation mark-ups for Technical Quarries and variation orders, as and when required
Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
Identification of changes in client provided 3D model, drawings, documents, or deliverables and update responsible engineer.
Participating in inter-discipline checks, 3D models reviews and implementation necessary follow up actions timely, as and when required
Follow instructions & guidance by superior and ensure to produce clash free 3D model and electrical deliverables
Inspection on board vessel / rig or assemblies for preparation, verification, or improvements.
Skills & Competencies:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Fluent in English Language (read, write, and speak)
Good technical competency and ability to generate reports
Trained and knowledgeable with relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards
Should be competent in both manual drawing skills as wells as computer-based application, such as automated computer assisted drafting (CAD)
Thorough knowledge in Electrical, Telecom and Instrumentation symbols
Conceptualization skills to visualize finished drawings and assigned projects
Ability to generate complete discipline drawings with Engineer's supervision
Knowledge of cable block diagrams and cable termination drawings
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks within assigned project and to meet required deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental / project objectives

Minimum Education & Qualifications:
Engineering Draughtsman Diploma / Diploma in Electrical/ Instrument Engineering or equivalent. Proficient with software such as PDMS, AVEVA E3D, Cadmatic 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, PDF, Microsoft office packages.
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Experience in power generation, distribution system & safety
Desirable Qualifications (Not Mandatory):
Engineering degree in Instrument and control/Electrical field
Experience on any other software for 3D modelling activities.
Proficient with SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation) & AVEVA Instrumentation.
Experience in Telecom, F&G and Navigation systems
Working experience in shipyard, major Production / Construction sites and heavy industrial segments.
