Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.What YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:Join a high growth R&D Engineering team that is focused on growth and development within our extensive Data Solutions product line!Develop designs and documentation for new and existing products by creating 3D models, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and other documentation to fully define product for manufacture and ensure specifications are met. Work will include projects with significant scope and/or complexity and minimal supervision from engineers and supervisor.Research specifications and identify purchased components for use in designsManage both small and some parts of large scale projects independently.Direct and assist with the build of components and assemblies for prototypes and pilot buildsAssist in the development of engineering, drafting and release standardsPerform tolerance stack analysis of complex assemblies and drawings prior to release of documentationParticipate in the product development process, including design brainstorming and voice of customer activityInitiate/prepare Engineering Change Order (ECO) documentation, including the development of BOM’sPerform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerances and other specifications are accurate as representedYou have:Two year technical degree preferably in drafting or designIdeally 3+ years of mechanical experience in drafting/designExperience using SolidWorks a mustKnowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processesProficiency in mechanical, electrical or refrigeration for designing, assisting and directing the build of components and assembliesExperience with ENOVIA PLM system a bonusJD Edwards experience an assetKnowledge of brazing/welding of copper, stainless steel a plusKnowledge of tubing and manifold designs for fluids a bonusKnowledge of plastic part design beneficialWE HAVE:A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every dayAt nVent, we believe safer systems ensure a more secure world.
