About the Role:


CrowdStrike is seeking a Deputy Manager, Revenue Operations to join their dynamic team. This critical role will contribute to the growth and efficiency of the organization's Revenue Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding and working experience of technical revenue accounting as per ASC 606 in a publicly traded company setting for the subscription revenue under SaaS business model. The expectation would be that the candidate will work directly with Legal, Sales, Sales Ops and other teams for revenue contract negotiations and review of non-standard terms for proper recognition of subscription revenue following the US accounting standards. The candidate is also expected to have experience in the monthly and quarterly close process for revenue to support the team.  This position will also support revenue technology and automation initiatives, ensuring adherence to SLAs and critical metrics, collaborating with key stakeholders, and contributing to a team focused on accurate and timely revenue recognition for subscription revenue. This position requires maintaining confidentiality, handling sensitive information with discretion, exemplifying ethical behavior, and advocating for company policies. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate across various business units and regions. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ready to take on significant responsibilities within the revenue operations team.


What You'll Do:


  • Perform in depth analysis of the revenue deals for proper revenue accounting of large and complex contract with non-standard terms as per the ASC 606 guidance and revenue policy


  • Collaborate with Legal, Sales, Sales Ops, Deal Desk as part of the contract review and negotiations about the non-standard terms to make sure revenue recognition is as per ASC 606 accounting standards


  • Write revenue accounting memos where needed to support the accounting conclusion following the relevant US Accounting standards


  • Actively take part in the accounting close of subscription revenue by working internally and with the cross functional teams in India and at the head office


  • Partner with cross functional teams (Deal Desk, Billing, Collections, GL Accounting, Finance and IT) to ensure all revenue agreements are properly recorded and revenue is accurately recognized in the accounting systems


  • Manage the assigned team for the shift, if required, and partner with other local team managers to contribute to the accounting close of subscription revenue


  • Own certain SOX controls and maintain compliance with internal controls for revenue recognition and related balance sheet accounts as well as continuous review and improvement of revenue systems and business processes


  • Lead various ad-hoc revenue recognition assessments, process improvements and other systems updates as well as automation initiatives


  • Liaison with external auditors for providing support documentation for the quarterly reviews and year-end audits


  • Prepare key metrics reporting for management regarding the team’s performance


What You'll Need:


  • Strong understanding and 10+ years of working knowledge/experience of the U.S. GAAP technical revenue accounting per ASC 606 in a SOX compliant environment for a publicly traded company


  • Experience in working with cross functional teams (i.e., Legal, Sales, Sales Operations, Deal Desk, etc.) in revenue contract negotiations, providing guidance for proper revenue recognition and writing accounting memos/whitepapers to support the conclusion where needed 


  • In depth understanding and hands on experience in the revenue recognition month/quarter/annual close process of a publicly traded company with SaaS business model. Experience in presenting and explaining the data to the leadership team


  • Experience of process improvements and system automations as well as business justifications, KPIs, initiatives and blockers


  • Experience with software packages including NetSuite, SalesForce.com, Tableau, and Microsoft Office Suite


  • Master’s degree in accounting from a reputable university with CA or US CPA designation strongly preferred


  • More than five years of progressive experience of mentoring and directly managing a team of at least five members with diverse knowledge and experience levels


  • Ability to take initiative while working in a dynamic environment across all levels of management and across functions and geographies


  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, and fast-growing company where adaptability is imperative while maintaining high performance standards, passion for excellence and continuous improvement


  • Team player and effective communicator with all levels of management and cross functional organizations

Shift Timings - 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM IST
