Deputy Manager-Capex/Opex

Procurement professional who undertakes activities to ensure the efficient and effective procurement of a defined portfolio of goods and services (low-mid value/risk level) within established business/JM policies and guidelines. Relatively simple direct or indirect buying activities; and/or low-mid risk to the business.

Key Responsibilities:

CAPEX Management:

• Plan, monitor, and manage capital expenditure projects, ensuring they align with the company’s growth strategy and operational goals.
• Develop and oversee project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring cost-effective allocation and adherence to budget constraints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and prioritize CAPEX investments, including the evaluation of ROI for new and ongoing projects.
• Drive project execution by coordinating with engineering and project management teams to meet quality and safety standards.

OPEX Management:

• Implement strategies to optimize operational expenditure, focusing on process improvements and cost-saving initiatives across departments.
• Monitor and report on OPEX budgets and variances, identifying areas for further efficiency improvements.
• Work closely with the operations and finance teams to identify and execute cost control measures, ensuring minimal disruption to business activities.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure cost-effective contracts and sustainable supply chains for CAPEX and OPEX needs.
• Establish long-term relationships with key suppliers and manage performance metrics to ensure timely and quality delivery of goods and services.

Risk & Compliance:

• Ensure all projects and expenditure activities comply with industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare regular reports for senior management on CAPEX and OPEX performance, including insights on budget adherence, variances, and improvement areas.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

• Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
• Engage with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and projects, to align expenditure strategies with company-wide objectives.
