Data Transformation Lead


Job Description


What’s in it for you:


The incumbent will help set-up a new Data Management process and manage a team that deal with data relating to Financial Statements of PE Funds and their Portfolio Companies.


Grade is 11/12 depending on expertise


What you’ll work on:


The incumbent will manage a team that does one or more or a combination from the following.


  • Processing LP data filings such as Schedule of Investments (SOI), & other Private Equity fund Financial Highlights/Metrics
  • Processing KPIs/Metrics & specific data items from financial statements of Portfolio companies
  • Evaluating historical data sets / source documents from our partners, to align with ‘go-to-market’ requirements, including data cleansing, reconciliation and data gap analysis.
  • Discovery and design of initial data processing procedures for future BAU data operations and develop SOPs & manuals.
  • Collaborate with product owners to help shape initial operational UI experience.
  • Perform periodical checks on the completeness and accuracy of the data extracted.
  • Identify gaps in coverage, period over period and help devising quality control measures to prevent such gaps.
  • Critically verify the Data for accuracy and help devising quality control logics to log probable errors and suggest preventive measures.
  • Handling data issues raised by the client.
  • Provide professional & client support services for our clients.
  • Complete other client projects on an “as needed” basis.

You will also


  • Coordinate with members from multiple teams to gather all necessary requirements, documentation and ensure quality standards.
  • Functional direction, guiding the team and advising on quality assurance related issues.
  • Manage all personnel and administrative affairs, including but not limited to, recruitment, training and development, and performance review.
    • Take active part in hiring the right candidates and help improve the hiring process.
  • Setting individual level objectives in line with the organizational goals and helping them achieving them by regular monitoring and mentoring
  • Aligning resources with both the business needs & employee skillset and aspirations; Maintaining visibility of available bandwidth within the team and manage allocation, prioritization of new tasks/projects.
    • Know the strengths and weaknesses of your team members inside out to assign the right resources for each adhoc task at hand.
  • Monitoring and measuring team performance through the adoption of KPIs, to ensure quality, reward successes, scale operations and drive efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of excellence in service and delivery by leading by an example.
  • Look out of early signs of potential attrition in your team and keep your manager posted. Help the Management by providing timely feedback about the team and suggest measures for positively engaging them and keeping them motivated.

What we look for:


  • MBA or a PGDBM or any other post-graduation in finance is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in dealing with Private Equity financial statements & reporting and financial statements (Income statement, Balance Sheet and Cashflow statement) of public and private companies.
  • Leading or participation in development of a process from scratch, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a conceptual understanding of the SaaS business model.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently in an efficient and responsible manner. 
  • Extreme attention to detail and an ability to document processes.
  • Experience working effectively with others in a team setting while under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Willingness to work long hours at critical times (i.e., quarterly reporting) based on need.
  • The desire to work for a company where individual contributions have significant impact on the success of the Team as a whole.  A positive attitude is required.
