About Our Team:
Data Operations (DO) within Elsevier is responsible for ensuring that secondary content is correctly acquired, processed, stored, distributed to external customers, and made available on Elsevier's product websites for end users. The Data Specialist will closely collaborate with various stakeholders, establish data-quality metrics and requirements, and create reports for monitoring quality and corrections. They are responsible for analyzing and categorizing data, capturing information, and systematically organizing data. They use a variety of technical skills, including data mining, data modeling, and extracting and interpreting data from large datasets. A Data Specialist requires strong business acumen and communication skills.
About the Role:
Plans, designs, develops, acquires, coordinates, and maintains written content for websites. Writes and proofreads original content and edits content developed by others. Coordinates the development of web content strategies. May review site traffic and search engine optimization (SEO) activity to ensure editorial content is helping to increase user recruitment and retention. This role offers an opportunity to develop professional knowledge in a collaborative environment.

Requirements:
Proficiency in MS Office Applications (including advanced Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio), Tableau, Databricks, and Confluence
In-depth knowledge of publishing standards and content formats
Understanding of bibliographic databases used within the DO (such as data capture and enhancements)
Technical writing, data modeling, and programming skills (Python, Pyspark)
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences
Any bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
