Description Job Description

We are looking for a data scientist who will be an integral part of client projects to design, develop and deliver decisioning intelligencesolutions. Your primary responsibility will be to use advanced analytical, statistical, and programming skills to extract insights from large and small datasets, solve business challenges, and drive decision making. As part of a team, your responsibilities will entail working in a collaborative manner with other team members, and across multiple business and technical entities on the client side.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and business acumen to derive value from data effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with team partners and client stakeholders to develop strategic roadmap for advanced analytics solutions which can be integrated into work plans as per business priorities.

  • Data Collection and Preparation:

  • Identify valuable data sources and automate data collection processes, building scalable data pipelines

  • Preprocess structured and unstructured data, ensuring its quality and integrity.

  • Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources via relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). 


  • Independently format, re-structure, and/or validate data to ensure quality, and review the dataset to ensure it is ready for analysis.

  • Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Analyze large datasets to detect trends, correlations, test hypotheses, forecast trends, and draw actionable insights.

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends and patterns.

  • Develop and implement advanced analytical models (clustering, regression, etc...)

  • Findings using data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.

  • Model Development:

  • Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to forecast trends or behaviors.

  • Optimize and enhance existing analytics models for better performance.

  • Create repeatable and scalable code bases and processes for improving development / execution efficiency.

  • Develop experimentation and measurement frameworks to increase the velocity of investments and aid complex decision-making.

  • Work with teams to automate and scale model deployment and analysis.

  • Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, consumer insight resources, engineers, strategy partners to deliver insights through statistical analyses and modeling that drive key decisions.

  • Work with cross-functional client teams (e.g. customer and experience strategy, enterprise performance) to identify and clarify business questions to answer, and to integrate insights into analysis products.

  • Provide active input to translate and refine business questions into tractable analysis, evaluation metrics, and mathematical/statistical models.

  • Work with analytics engineers and BI analysts to deploy models into production systems.

  • Problem Solving:

  • Propose solutions and strategies to address business challenges using data-driven approaches.

  • Translate analysis into actionable recommendations for stakeholders such as product managers and executives.


  • Gather information, business goals, priorities, and organizational context around the questions to answer, as well as the existing and upcoming data infrastructure.

  • Be a strategic thought partner with stakeholders to define high-impact analytical problems and innovative ways to solve them with data.

  • Drive product innovation through robust measurement strategies in experimentation, modeling, and analytics.

  • Lead the design, analysis, and interpretation of experiments that shape the future of customer and enterprise performance analytics.

Required Skills

  • Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and Cloud based environment computing.

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in applying traditional statistical, machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and/or graph techniques to address business problems

  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.

  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark) for handling large-scale datasets.

  • Mathematics and Statistics:

  • Strong foundation in linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistical modeling for algorithm development.

  • Data Wrangling and Visualization:

  • Skills in cleaning, transforming, and visualizing data for effective communication of insights.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and critical thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • This role would be client-facing so presenting to non-data SMEs, translating statistical concepts in lay terms and interpreting business needs are strongly desired. 


Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

  • 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, 

  • Coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis Proven experience in data science or related roles.

  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) and database management systems.

  • Strong statistical knowledge and intuition that you have used in experimentation or other analytics settings.

  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business questions into data-driven solutions.

  • Ability to communicate technical and statistical concepts clearly and concisely among audiences at many different levels

  • Self-starter who thrives under a high level of autonomy and who has the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle multiple priorities.

  • A passion for continuous improvement and learning – for example, keeping up to date with Artificial Intelligence technologies, tools, and methods and applying them to your everyday activities.

  • Good judgment to balance between addressing stakeholder or test-specific needs and investing in scalable solutions to serve general use cases. Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and prioritize multiple experiments.
