Specialist, Corporate Information Technology Risk, within the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Management organization, within the second line-of-defense (2LoD) will be an individual contributor working closely with peers, first line of defense (1LoD) data role holders, Enterprise Data teams, and their manager (reporting to the Head of Data Risk) to execute and enhance Data Risk activities aligned to the overall Data Risk strategy. The Specialist role will help define and implement the processes and reporting mechanisms for performing credible challenge and oversight for in-scope Data Risk areas such as Records/Information Lifecycle Management, Data Management, and Data Safety, Ethics and Bias. Skills/Experience
- 12+ years of technical experience in implementing data risk and/or management solutions in areas such as Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Cataloging, Data Lineage, Record/ Information Lifecycle Management (including records retention), Data Governance, Data Protection and Data Privacy.
- Must have hands-on knowledge in implementation of Collibra data management modules / solutions.
- 4 – 6 years of risk management experience preferred, with heavy favor for those with expertise in data management technology implementations.
- Understanding of DCAM, DAMA-DMBOK, and RDARR/BCBS 239 frameworks and best practices.
- Basic understanding of ETL concepts.
- Advanced understanding of tooling/ technologies utilized to perform Records Lifecycle Management including the processes related to data retention, deletion and legal hold.
- Advanced data analytics skills, working knowledge of any query language such as SQL or Python are preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of the Banking industry preferred, 5+ years in Financial Services is strongly recommended.
- Strong documentation and communication skills required to summarize and present information related to credible challenge and review results.
- Organizational skills required to coordinate risk related activities.
- Can work independently as an individual contributor.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
Responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing the Data Risk Team’s strategy documentation and corresponding data policies, perform technical assessments of current data management practices and evaluate for compliance to the respective data policy / standard.
- Perform technical analysis of Collibra implementation / data management activities related to Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Cataloging, Data Lineage, and Record Lifecycle Management (inclusive of record retention and legal hold processes) and provide recommendations for improvements based on industry leading practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the 1LOD and other enterprise data teams to effectively address and remediate identified gaps and to provide recommendations for improving or enhancing the overall data strategy within the bank.
- Perform Data Risk team oversight and credible challenge activities against the 1LoD implementation of data management strategy practices such as Critical Data Element identification, Data Quality rule development, adherence to RDARR/BCBS 239 requirements, and Data availability/ integrity efforts.
- Collaborate closely with others within the Data Risk Team and NFR/ second line of defense (2LOD) partners worldwide to implement data risk strategy and achieve targeted objectives.
- Support findings and recommendations with technical documentation illustrating results and proposed recommendations based on industry leading practices.
- Review Data Risk related policies and standards, identify areas of improvements and support with enhancement of the documentation and procedures to improve compliance and alignment to industry expectations.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects or special program initiatives to further the Bank’s overall data strategy and underlying activities.
