Who we are looking for:

State Street’s Global Technology Services, Chief Business Office division is seeking a dynamic and analytical Cloud FinOps specialist with engineering knowledge to join our organization as part of a newly created Cloud FinOps team.

Responsibilities include:

• Financial Analysis: Conducting in depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. This may involve analyzing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs). 
• FinOps Cloud Engineering:  Assist Cloud Solution Architects in collaboration with FinOps team to execute cloud optimization activities.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the development of budgets and forecasts by providing financial analysis, insights, and recommendations. This may involve analyzing historical data, market trends, and business objectives to develop accurate financial projections. 
• Financial Reporting: Preparing financial reports, presentations, and dashboards to provide insights and updates to management and stakeholders. This may involve analyzing financial data, creating visualizations, and communicating key findings and recommendations. 

• Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to cloud spending. Implement controls and governance mechanisms to prevent unauthorized spending and optimize resource utilization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with various departments, such as finance, operations, and IT to gather data, understand business requirements, and support financial decision-making. 

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

• Knowledge of core Finance principles and basic understanding of the corporate accounting process (budget, forecast, invoicing, charge back, accruals).  IT Finance experience a plus.
• Cloud Engineering FinOps knowledge
• Ability to analyze large sets of data to dissect issues or identify opportunities. 
• Aptitude to learn and understanding new concepts and technologies
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
• Ability to operate successfully in a lean, agile, and fast-paced organization. 
• Knowledge of public cloud players.  
• Experience working with Tableau, Power BI, and/or cloud financial analytics/reporting tools is a plus.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required (finance, accounting, computer science, computer engineering).
• 10+ years of relevant Cloud FinOps financial experience.
• Ability to foster strong relationships across client organizations, including good personal and working relationships with end users.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
