The Data Analytics team at Vontier is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architecture Lead Engineer to join our dynamic Data & Analytics Hub team. This role requires extensive knowledge of Snowflake and a deep understanding of data architecture principles to drive the design, development, and optimization of our data infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data management systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and capable of meeting the needs of our growing business.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Data Architecture Design: Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data architectures using Snowflake. This includes creating detailed architectural blueprints, aligning data models with business requirements, and ensuring the overall integrity and security of the data infrastructure.
· Data Modeling: Develop and maintain both logical and physical data models. This involves working closely with stakeholders to understand data needs, defining data standards, and ensuring data consistency and quality across various platforms.
· Integration: Collaborate with data engineers and developers to seamlessly integrate diverse data sources into the Snowflake data platform. This task requires proficiency in ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data is accurately and efficiently ingested, transformed, and stored. Successful application of native Snowflake ingestion components such as snowpipes, streams use of external
tables and incremental processing. Successful application of orchestration and materialization techniques native to snowflake such as dynamic tables and complex DAGs. Experience with Kafka streaming pipes and Kafka forwarders.
· Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize queries and performance on the Snowflake platform. This includes tuning warehouse configurations, partitioning, and other performance-enhancing techniques to meet the dynamic needs of the business.
· MLOps: Demonstrated familiarity with decision sciences applications and approaches utilizing Snowpark compute, Snowflake Model registries, Snowflake Feature registries and the ongoing supporting to MLOps role of snowflake ML workflows practices.
· Governance: Establish and enforce robust data governance policies. This involves setting up frameworks for data security, privacy, and compliance with industry standards and regulations, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
· Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data architecture and analytics. Recommend and implement innovative solutions that drive innovation and efficiency within the data ecosystem.
· Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders. This entails understanding their requirements and delivering data solutions that support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
· Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Foster a culture of continuous learning, sharing best practices, and encouraging professional development within the team.
WHO YOU ARE
· Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
· Experience: At least 7 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related role, with a focus on Snowflake. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage complex data architectures.
· Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning and optimization.
· Proficiency in SQL and other data querying languages, enabling efficient data manipulation and retrieval.
· Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools, ensuring effective data integration and transformation.
· Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, leveraging their capabilities for scalable data solutions.
· Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices, ensuring compliance and data protection.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex data-related challenges.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration across teams.
· Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, promoting a cohesive and productive atmosphere.
· Proven leadership and mentorship abilities, guiding and inspiring team members to achieve their best.
