Job Description

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will lead the Infrastructure platform engineering efforts by bringing modern Cloud Platform Engineering practices, such as building scalable and reliable cloud platforms, to help accelerate our product teams. He/She will oversee and grow our existing DevOps teams, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality infrastructure and tools that enable our engineers to deliver value faster and more reliably. This role will manage and mentor a team of platform engineers in the region.

The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created the first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.

What you will be responsible for

• Design, build, and maintain modern and complex cloud platforms in Azure
• Develop and manage the infrastructure using various IaaS/PaaS Azure services.
• Develop and manage the Data Platform ecosystem – Snowflake , TalenD,Qlik , Fivetran
• Collaborate closely with product development teams and QA teams to deliver platform services.
• Take ownership of critical feature development, driving the end-to-end development lifecycle, ensuring quality, security, and scalability of infrastructure platform.
• Manage, mentor, and guide a team of engineers, helping them grow professionally and achieve their individual and team goals.
• Provide technical leadership and support to the engineering team, ensuring best practices in software engineering are maintained.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and create professional development plans for team members.
• Drive team engagement, foster a collaborative culture, and ensure effective communication across the team.
• Play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, and developing new team members as the engineering team grows.
• Work closely with leadership and executive stakeholders, providing status updates, managing timelines, and identifying risks.

What we value

• 15+ years of experience managing technical teams, including DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering groups.
• Experience with Infrastructure Platform Engineering practices and strategies, with a focus on enabling developer productivity.
• Hands on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (Azure).
• Hands-on experience in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) and automation frameworks.
• Experience with observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or similar.
• Solid understanding of cloud computing, microservices, and system design.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters in Software/Computer/Science fields.

Kubernetes certifications

Azure certifications
